Pretty. Odd.

It was the start of the school year and Ryan found himself totally completely and utterly lost. His mother had dropped him off earlier that day leaving with no more than a goodbye, his luggage and a campus map that the boy has been holding onto for dear life ever since.

Even though the quick departure of his mother had been disscused and agreed over a few weeks prior, Ryan started regreting his decision as he passed the same group of girls for the fifth time. Distraught he looked around untill his eyes landed on a lanky boy with brown hair and glasses looking insistently at his phone's screen.

Redundand he aproached the boy and lightly tapped him on the shoulder. The boy looked up from the device and at Ryan with an unreadable expression.

"Uh...I like your shirt."the shorter boy said awkwardly, nodding to the other's Antrax shirt.

"Thanks?"the tall brunete said puzzled.

"Wait!"Ryan said louder than intended when he noticed the other boy's attention returning to the cellular device,"Do you know by any chance where the dormitories are?"he asked quieting down again.

He could swear he saw the corners of the other boys mouth twitch up for a second before he asked,"First year?". Ryan nodded hanging his head low slightly ashamed.

"It's down that way, then turn left at the library -you can't miss it."the tall boy said pointing Ryan in the right direction.

He thanked him and was about to leave when the brunete called after him,"If you see a red haired guy about this tall on your way there tell him that Mikey said to move his ass!"

Finally, almost 3 hours after his arrival on campus, Ryan has found the dormitories. He stood in the hallway looking uncertain at the apartament door that had a small plate engraved with the number '206'.

Taking in a deep breath he knocked on the door and waited for a while. He was about to knock again when the door creaked open and a boy with dark hair peaked his head from inside.

"Can I help you with anything?"he asked looking at Ryan confused.

"I'm supposed to live here?"the boy answered quietly and held up his key so that the other could see that the number of the key matched the one on the door.

"Oh, come in then!"he said chirpy and disappeared back into the apartament, leaving the door creaked open.

Ryan picked up his bag, pushing open the door, and entered the apartament, making sure to close the door behind him. It wasn't anything spectacular, really. Just what you'd picture a regular apartment; a hallway with two doors on each side, attached to bigger room serving as livingroom/dinning room space and open kitchen.

It wasn't untill he had walked in the livingroom space that he noticed the particularity about his new roommate; he was sitting butt-naked on the couch, casually scrolling on his phone. In shock Ryan dropped his bag on the floor with a squeal and covered his eyes, blushing furiously.

"What happened?"the dark haired boy asked concerned, a few moments of silence later adding apologetically,"Oh, shit, dude! I'm sorry!"and walking to his room, judging by the sound of footsteps and a door shutting closed.

Ryan lowered his hands warily, peaking to see if the coast was clear and sighed in relief when he was proven right. He knew that his reaction was probably a little exaggerated and made a point to himself to apologise; but it wasn't entirely his fault.

"Alright, we'll probably want to avoid that in the future."the dark haired boy -now fully chloted- said emerging from his room and scaring Ryan out of his skin,"You're really jumpy."he added chuckling and sat back down on the couch.

"Well, wouldn't you be if you were in my place?"Ryan said frustrated,"It took me three hours to find this damn place and after I finally do and want to settle in my roommate is sitting naked on the couch!"he ranted, totally ignoring the point he has made to himself earlier.

The two sat in silence, the boy on the couch having a look of intense concentration plastered on his face,"Is he hot?"he broke the silence and smiled smugly, making Ryan roll his eyes and grunt in annoyance.

"Can you get any more narcissistic?"he asked rethorically.

"Ouch, that hurt me right here."the boy whined placing his hand over his heart,"Alrigh, alright. Let's call truce, we're gonna be stuck togheter for a while, might as well not have bad blood this early in our relationship."he said with a wink.

Ryan huffed and sat down on the opposite end of the couch. No matter how much the other has managed to get on his nerves, he did agree; they don't have to be best friends, but at least on good terms with eachother.

"I'm Brendon. I'm also a freshman, I'm majoring in theatre with a minor in music and I'm not as drunk as I look most of the time."he introduced himself sticking his hand out to Ryan.

The boy reluctantly shook the other's and introduced himself,"My name is George Ryan Ross The Third and I plan on majoring in philosophy with a minor in english."

Brendon started laughing as soon as Ryan finished his introduction which made the boy feel very self-conscious,"What?"he snapped annoyed.

"You just...said it so formal."Brendon laughed,"Relax, you're not taking a test. It's safe here."he added getting up and patting the other boy's shoulder.

"Where are you going?"Ryan asked rather anxious, watching the other walk into the hallway and put on his shoes.

"Well, you need time to settle in and clearly uncomfortable with me being here, so out."he said nodding to the door,"You should try it too after you're done here. Make some friends before lectures start."he added going out the door and leaving Ryan all alone.

Looking back on it, this conversation was prettt odd.

A/N: This is kinda crappy, but I don't really care. I need something like this right now. Anyways, to give you guys the premise of this, they're all in college and most of the action will take place on campus and sometimes off campus. This is probably going to be cliché as heck, though, as all I know about college is from books and mainstream media.
