~Mikasa's POV~

Armin was distraught and silent: sniffling the entire way. I wondered.

Why he was still here? He's not hauling the cart nor providing anything for this small mission? Oh well, I guess he's just comforted being by with us: his best friends. Especially after seeing all these horrid events, he deserves a break. But none of us get one, or we're just dead as anyone else is.

It was silent. Even after we got Eren on a horse, it was pin silent.

Armin kept his cool and calm now. I hope he'll be okay. We were half mile away from the interior walls by now. Bertholdt just stood there, moving his feet and not really alive, moving mechanically. One foot after the other. It seems, that everyone is going to have a life of trauma.

We need to push through this all regardless.

My body and mind were tired, but I need Eren shipped, and questions answered. What the hell do they want with Eren?! He just saved us all and he can barely get a well-deserved rest. Either they think he's a traitor or a weapon when put to good use. Probably both if anything.

Jean was up ahead, in a mouth mask like the rest of us so we wouldn't breathe in any toxins that could kill us or get us fatally sick. Marco was alive and fine, but a part of his face was cut and had his right eye patched?

I shook it off and we continued to the wall. Whatever happened, we could talk about it later.

"Mikasa!" Jean exclaimed.

I just gave him a side glance and kept moving. Eren needs to get there: the interior. And I'm a part of that mission. Especially without any interruption.

"Mikasa?" I heard him lowly whisper in a question.

I heard foot steps approaching quite rapidly, and as they grew louder, they grew slower. And I felt a hand touch my shoulder.

"Mikasa?" I moved neck slightly and saw Jean: as expected.

"What?" I demanded.

"Uhh--I just wanted to say -- I'm grateful you're alive." Jean answered nervously.

I just stood there and looked at him without the smallest intent of a thought nor reaction to this.

"Uh." Jean said uneasily.

"I have to go and deliver Eren."

"G-Good luck." Jean stuttered out.

"Remember Eren thinks you're a horse face, maybe I agree." I stated, and saw his face grow dead. I turned my back to him and grabbed the horse's reins back.

We walked on and Jean didn't trail after me again like a lost and sad puppy.

"Huh? That guy eh right?" Bertholdt scoffed, nudging my shoulder.

"I suppose."

"I bet he likes you."

I blushed as he teased: my hair hid it thankfully.

"Or just thinks he does." Armin chipped in, not to tease me, but just to be consider the alternative possibilities; as usual.

"Sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night giant." I retorted subtly to Bertholdt.

His body stunted and we made our way to the wall wordless.

The wall guards stood there on their high horses and we stopped. One stood out: a brown-haired woman with spectacles and a ponytail with a scout's cape over her shoulders. I think I've seen her around Captain Levi before--do they work together?

"Ah!" She shouted more than excited. This caught me off guard and my eyes widened.

"Eeeeeehhhh!" The woman screeched happily jumping off from her stead.

"Uh?" Bertholdt said, pretty confused and as dumbfounded as myself.

She kept jumping and was hyper actively moving around Eren and some what ready to say something-- then she held her speech back from utter shock.

Her eccentricity was throwing all of us.

"Ahem." She said, stood straight, saluted, and conducted herself "properly."

We saluted back.

"Hanji--last name's a secret!" She chuckled, and became serious again.

Hanji-- the woman we're supposed to leave Eren with-- her?! What a loon.

"Anyyyyways" she sang. "I'm the interior's leading scientist on titans -- I was the one found their third weak spot-- the Achilles tendon heel!! Oh look at me ranting and bragging!! Well, I'm here for the shipment. You all may follow in if desired but discontinue if tired!"

She sure talked a lot. Bertholdt looked at me, I looked at him as she blabbered on more, and we looked at Armin too see if there was a mutual agreement to enter. He nodded.

"Well, I've never been so what a better time than now?" Bertholt answered to her.

"Greaaatt!" Hanji screamed like a starving girl for food.

I looked at Armin like she's crazy: because she is.

He shrugged his shoulders like "well what can we do but just accept it?"

She motioned the guards to open the wall. The bright and dwindling sun cascaded out from the wall and it was nothing like I'd ever seen. My arms grew weak. I suppose the interior was beautiful like every one had said it'd be. And witnessing this, right this very moment. I can say that there weren't any words for it.

I smiled, for the first time in the longest. I just realised that. Bertholdt grabbed my hand and smiled.

I looked down at our hands, then to his red and shy face. I swatted my arm back to my side. I saw how this stung him. Whatever. Why would he do that? Regardless, I need to remain focused and serious at all times.

Eren was placed in a carriage and Hanji gave us papers to be residents until Eren is all done and dealt with.

What did she mean "done and dealt with?!"

Ugh.

Bertholdt and I were rooming together. Why not Armin instead?! At least I can trust him not to try anything.

Well hey, matters could be worse: Jean and I bunking.

The thought of that made me shiver. I fixed my scarf snuggly around my neck, and took a horse with us to our temporary dwelling.
