Sixteen

~Mikasa's POV~

The next thing I knew, my body flung over rolling 100 metres away as gravel and debris scratched away onto my flesh and clothes. This happened right after a bolt of thunder uprooted from the very Earth through Bert, and I saw something horrific transforming right in front of my very eyes.

~Bertholdt's POV~

I kissed her one last time and I felt the cold in my body start to go away. I couldn't stop my eyes from closing, I knew I was dying but I'm not ready to go now, not ye--. . .

M-mikasa? I asked to myself.

"THE DEATH IS ON HER!" She kept screaming, Reiner was carrying her away, away from what? I looked down to where she was looking, to only see--myself?! No-no! Oh I wish that only I can go back just to tell her everything's fine!? Oh why'd it have to end this way!?

"Bruh, you're not coming up here yet." I heard a familiar voice say to me.

I turned around quickly to see it was Franz!

"Fr-Franz?! Wh-what's happening?! Am I actually dead?! And what do you mean 'you're not coming up here yet'?" I asked frantically. Wait but if I can see Franz, then that does mean I-- I'm really dead.

"No time to explain man, this timing isn't right okay." Franz smiled to me, and he brought his arms to my shoulders. "Get back in there bro, and tell Hannah it wasn't her fault okay?" Franz smiled to me, pushing me down into my breathless body.

"W-wait I have questions no I can't go ye--!" I was cut off by some magnetic force pulling me to my body as Franz pushed me down into myself. Everything went black.

"Hyuuhh!" I felt myself breathe, what happened, what's happening?! There's so much blood, blood everywhere!

"Gyuaahhh!" I let myself scream out from the consistent pain of my deep wounds. A thunder bolt struck into me and I felt myself swiftly rising in the air as I felt pieces of my body grow. Some type of skin and muscle tissue was attaching to my face, as I went into the air, my eyes were struggling to find Mikasa's presence. I don't even know what's happening to me I just need to find her.

There! There she is! I was smiling down to her, b-but. . . I squinted some more to meet her very far gaze. . And she was terrified!? What's happening!? I don't know anything right now she's kicking off the ground and running, but she's still looking back at me as she runs!?

I tried to speak, but that's when everything went dark.

~Mikasa's POV~

I was running as fast as I could, what's going on!? Am I really seeing this or is this just a dream?!

"Mikasa! STOP RUNNING!" I told myself in my mind, but I couldn't. His face was smothered into the nape of the titan, the colossal titan's nape. I can't believe it. I stopped looking at him, his face wasn't there anymore, and for all I could was a monster now. I ran to my bunk where all the girls where panicking quickly to get their ODM gear on. I spotted mine and swiftly put it on. For some reason, Hannah seemed sane again and looked determined to take the bloody bastard down. I can't have her kill him! He's like Eren! Wait but does he even know he's in titan form!? Alll-- all the lives that were lost. . . Bert could never hurt a fly, he can't be doing this knowingly. If so, he's the biggest threat to humanity, and I have started to love him!

Enough thinking! I got made sure my blades were fine, and ran out the door. Hannah was ahead of me, running like no tomorrow in order to kill the colossal titan. It's him, it's really him. Why isn't my brain fully processing this, am I in denial right now?

"Sasha!" I yelled to her, I motioned my eyes towards Hannah and then back to Sasha's eyes. She nodded and went to go save Hannah from getting herself killed.

I stopped running once I was close enough to him, Shadis was yelling at everyone and giving them orders. Bert was just standing there, quietly and not moving, but his eyes were following everyone. I heard horses in the distance, it was Levi Heichou's squad, and it must be. I was still looking up at him, I could barely see his titan face, but those eyes were hard to miss. I think he saw me, oh God he's moving--- he's moving towards me. I felt my breath hitch, and my brain told me to run, so I did so accordingly. I started slowly and built momentum, I looked back to see if he was really after me, and he in fact was. With each step, the Earth quaked.

"Get on!" It was Annie, she was on a horse. Of all people, ugh the heck with it! I grabbed her hand and I hoisted myself up onto the back of her steed.

"Thanks" I quietly said, but truly said and meant.

"Haha, no problem, just hold onto this." Annie laughed nicely, and handed me the reins. Wait what?

"Why do I need the reins if you're in the front--?"

Annie majestically jumped off of the horse and geared herself onto the moving leg of the colossal titan.

"Annie NO!" I yelled whilst trying to get a grip on the reins. She knows it's him, we all do. That's her best friend, and she'd kill him anyways, this makes me wonder, if I'd do the same to Eren now? Has she no humanity?

Forget it, it is time to get a handle on Bert. I was going towards Levi's squad and I saw Eren! I was smiling so much right now
