The Candle That Can Never Burn Out

It was the next morning. I woke up extra early to see the sun rise. It was beautiful. I then went back to sleep and woke up at 12:30. It was a Saturday which meant I could have a lie in. (I obviously could have a lie in every day because it was summer) After what had happened the other night I don't think I was ready to see anyone or do anything, I just wanted to be alone.

My mum had arranged for us to meet her best friend Kim today and both her daughters Ffion and Emily, both my age so I knew it would be a good day. I packed some stuff in my bag and headed off with them.

When we arrived, Kim greeted us with a homely welcome. It was delightful. She offered us tea in a Cath Kidston style polka dot mug and layed out a selection of biscuits and refreshments, they smelt so good. It felt amazing to get away from the house and all that was going on.

Ffion, Emily, Amy and I all went up too Ffion's room for a bit, just to et away from the 'adult talk' that was going on downstairs. "I'll put a film on shall I?" Ffion asked. We all nodded. Ffion was roughly Amy's age and Em was mine, so it worked out good. She put on 'LOL' with Miley Cyrus and so we all snuggled up to watch it. Em showed me some of her girly magazines as the film rolled, we were gossiping about the Kardashians. I loved Em to pieces. It was so nice to have a real friend, someone who understood me, for who I was, and not someone who was fake.

After the film, Ffi showed us up to the attic. This was were the two of them would spend their nights, watching films, listening to music, gossiping about their mates in school and most of the time chilling out. It was amazing and I was going to edge my mum onto the idea of converting the attic for me and Amy.

We got home around 7 ish, giving us enough time to have tea. After tea, I had a phone call. It was Harry.

Me-Hello?

Harry-Lily, is that you?

Me-Yeah, how you doin?

Harry-Yeah I'm good, yourself?

Me-Yeah, never better.

There was an awkward silence.

Harry-So I rang just too say that I'm ready. I'm ready to speak to you. I need to. With all that's been going on lately, I feel it's time to talk.

Me-Well, I don't really know, yeah I'll talk to you but I'm not sure what you want me to say, I mean I've done nothing wrong.

Harry-I respect how you feel, but I really need to talk about this too you in person, I can't speak over the phone.

I sighed.

Harry-Meet me at the park again in like 10mins?

Me-Sure. But I'm not staying for long.

Harry-Deal.

I hung up. What was I thinking? I just loved the sound of his voice. It comforted me. My emotions were all over the place, I still loved him, and I didn't want to loose him.

I quickly ran down past the shops and past a field and into the park where he was.

"I've missed that beautiful smile of yours". He said complementing me. I smiled back and gave him a tight hug. I missed those hugs. We sat talking for ages. He kept saying how he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and how he would back me up in school over his friends. I really loved that in a person.

"Can we just carry on our relationship without people trying to interfere?" He said in a sweet tone. I said nothing, only press my lips on his, creating a soft gentle moment filled with joy and happiness. I had my boy back, and I didn't care.

I got home around 9 ish to my mum asking where I was. I said I went out for a walk to clear my head. I ran upstairs and dived onto my bed with such enthusiasm.

To Lily,

I love you x

From Harry.

That was it. He was mine again, and I didn't care.
