Olivia looked out of her office window, completely zoned. She didn't hear Everett knocking on her door and entering. It took her a few minutes to realize that he's in here.

"Are you okay?" Everett asked, leaning down to kiss Olivia on her head.

"I have no idea," she said.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't want to get into it," Olivia said, picking up her pen and started to go through her paperwork.

Everett placed his hand on top of the papers.

"Talk to me," he said.

"Everett, please," Olivia looked up. "I really don't want to get into this."

Olivia knew Everett wasn't going to give in too easily.

"Is it about your parents?"

"I told you, I don't want to talk about it," Olivia said.

"But I want to know," Everett said. "We're partners. And I care about you. A lot."

"I know," Olivia said. "But it's really not a good time for me."

Everett sighed. "Fine. I'm going to be in my office if you need anything."

"Alright," Olivia nodded.

Everett left her alone in her office as she continued the paperwork.

At this point, all she wanted was to bang her head against the wall. She really wanted to talk to Everett. She wanted to tell him everything, but she knew she had to keep some things to herself.

She doesn't want him to know how Dylan moving in with his aunt really affected her. She began to look at Dylan like he's her little brother. Son maybe. She truly cared for him.

And now her parents showing up out of nowhere and trying to fix everything about her house and her life... it's not helping her current state. She just wants to close her eyes and wake up again for it all to be a dream.

Since the events in Wakanda, Olivia felt like there's no way in hell her life can be completely normal again. She wanted to talk to someone about what happened in Wakanda. She already talked about it several times with Everett, Ella, and Dylan. At first, she felt like a heavy weight was lifted off of her shoulders. Now that some time has passed, she feels the weight came back. Now it's different. She feels like the weight won't be lifted off of her shoulders if she talked to  Everett, Ella or Dylan about it.

Olivia is constantly trying to convince herself that she's fine. She reminded herself that she can't talk to anyone about Wakanda. At least, the truth of Wakanda.

Olivia snapped out of her thoughts to focus on her paperwork. She hadn't realized she got lost in her thoughts until then. Olivia tried so hard to focus on her work, but it was difficult. She has no idea why, whenever she zones out and snaps out of it, she can't focus on her task at hand.

She sighed and leaned back on her chair. Olivia picked up her phone to see it's nearly time to leave. Work is almost over. She set her phone down and got up. There were five minutes until work ended.

Just as she finished packing her things, Everett entered.

"Hey," Olivia said.

"Are you ready to go?" he asked.

"Yeah, almost," she said.

"The UN meeting is tomorrow afternoon," Everett said. "We're going."

"Alright."

"Do you want to talk about it?" Everett still hasn't forgotten about their earlier conversation. He still wants to talk about it. He wants Olivia to talk to him. Not only that, he wants to make sure that she's okay.

"I'll tell you on the way home," she said.

A/N:

Sorry for not updating in a long time. I've been struggling with writing this chapter. This chapter would've been about the Black Panther post-credit scene, but I wanted it to be the next chapter.

I'm planning on ending it soon. I feel like Repercussion has to come to an end and I'm ready to end it. I'm planning on writing a few more chapters before ending it. This is the shortest book I've written I think.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
