Chapter 6

Harry stared dumbfounded at the Slytherin sitting next to him. All of that couldn't have been true yet he could see in desperation and fear in Draco's eyes. He had never seen such vulnerability in the boy's eyes before and he knew that everything he was just told was the truth.

So much was rushing through his mind. He wanted to accept Draco, he really did. But, Harry's mind was already thinking about all the repercussions of such a commitment. Publicly coming out as gay. A relationship with a Malfoy. Would his friends accept him? Still love him? It didn't matter, nothing else mattered. His mind started seeing a different door open, through the repercussions, one of hope and love, a chance at a family and finding his true self. Could the possibilities outweigh the definite repercussions? 

Could he really admit his feelings to Draco and accept him as his soul mate. Deep inside he was absolutely thrilled to be Draco's mate. Even thinking about someone else with the young Malfoy made him want to use a unforgiveable curse. 

He made his decision after 15 minutes of internal debate. He knew the answer, it had been simple all along. He just needed to gather the courage to say it out loud, and he had.

Harry Potter was going to accept Draco Malfoy as his soulmate for life.

He turned to Draco and looked him in the eye and simply said "yes"
Draco looked surprised at the sudden word before he asked "yes what?" with a very confused look on his face. Harry silently cursed himself for not being clearer. "Yes Draco, I accept you as my soulmate" Harry clarified.

Harry watched as Draco's for went from one of confusion to one of utter happiness. Seeing him smile made Harry's heart beat rapidly as feelings he had never felt for another stirred inside him.

Draco's POV

HE SAID YES!!!!

...wait he actually said yes. My mate just accepted me. I can't believe Harry Potter accepted me. I was smiling more than I ever had in my life and Harry was smiling back at me with a foreign emotion in his eyes. Could it possibly be love? I doubt it.

I had one more thing to ask my gorgeous mate.
"Harry, Will you be my boyfriend?" I mean the question had to be asked and even though Harry had accepted him as a mate Draco was still terrified of rejection.

Harry looked surprised at the follow up question at first but a few seconds later Draco had the honor of seeing a beaming smile grace the other boy's face. Harry spread out his arms and jumped onto Draco engulfing him in a hug. The Slytherin wasn't used to affection or touching of any kind  and had to ask "Is that a yes then?" Harry pulled away and looked at him and nodded his head, yelling yes.

Draco was so happy at this point he did the unthinkable. Since Harry was already close to him, he reached out and pulled the boy closer connecting their lips. At first the kiss was tentative but as they realized what was happening it became hungrier. Draco slowly slid his tongue in Harry's mouth and Harry moaned into the kiss lacing one hand in Draco's hair the other on Draco's waist.

5 minutes I to the kiss the two reluctantly pulled away unable to continue any farther in public. Both boys hair were ruffled and Draco smiled timidly at Harry who reached out to touch his face gently.

This day had so far been the best day of Draco's life. Then he realized that they were a couple now, he was in a relationship with a guy. What will the school say, I mean he didn't care if the whole wizarding world knew about them but when did Harry want to come out, did he even want to come out? Of course Harry was his perfect other half and answered his unspoken thoughts before Draco's brain could spiral too far.

"So are we gonna go show each other off now or do you wanna keep this a secret?"
Draco looked at Harry and tried not to make his excitement known.

"I mean what do you prefer" Draco replied trying to feel the question out

"I am not ashamed to be dating you or to be your mate Draco" Harry said

"I honestly want everyone to know your off limits to everyone but me" Draco started to get a little protective.

"Only yours, c'mon we can still make it back to breakfast" Harry's words made Draco's heart soar. He stood up and took his mate's hand.

Together they walked out of the little courtyard that had suddenly become Draco's favorite place in Hogwarts. Making their way to the great hall they paused before the great hall entrance and Harry kissed his cheek whispering into Draco's ear "we are sitting at my table"

Draco nodded his head, as long as his mate was happy he was happy. Ignoring the entire schol's stares the couple walked towards the Gryffindor table and Harry motioned Draco to sit first. There was only one seat left Draco observed. As Draco sat down Harry placed himself in Draco's lap. This surprised everyone that saw the two in the great hall.

The Gryffindors all looked confused for a second but then they all smiled and congratulated us and kind of welcomed me to the family. Who would have thought Draco Malfoy would call Gryffindors family or even that his boyfriend would be from Gryffindor. He was very surprised at their welcome but was overjoyed as he wound one arm around Harry's waist and started to eat breakfast at the unfamiliar table.

Halfway through their return to breakfast Draco looked up to see all the Slytherins giving Harry dirty looks, especially the girls. He would have to address this when he got back to the common room. Harry was his everything now and people will not disrespect him.
