"So when are you coming back?" Maddie asked.
"Maybe sometime next week, I'll see. I have a lot of work to do and it seems as though it won't be done yet." Chase answered, sitting behind his desk. He looked out at the Chicago skyline and admired it. He knew it was wrong to lie to her, but he needed to find out who she was and Ryland found a huge number of people who matched that description.
"Fine by me, tomorrow is my last test and I don't have school for a week anyway, after that I shouldn't get anymore emails for a while. But I'll continue to keep you up with yours." Maddie said. Chase nodded and leaned back into his chair.
"We've been talking like this for a bit, mind telling me your name now?" He asked. He heard Maddie sighed on the phone, but she was still silent. "I'm Chase." He spoke again.
"Hi; bye." Chase rolled his eyes as he heard the call end and he placed the phone back on his desk. He opened each file and looked over the pictures attached and set them aside, not finding the correct one.
"Boss, let's talk." Chase looked up at his long time best friend and co-worker Ryland Collins.
"Is it about the meeting you missed out last week becase you got sick and Esmeralda had to take care of you before you went to the hospital?" Chase answered, going back to the files.
"I really was sick!" Ryland argued and Chase glared at him.
"You were having dinner and you even crashed into Leslie who works on the main floor." Ryland thought back and winced at the memory.
"I guess that did happen." Ryland quickly shook his head and sat closer to the edge of the seat, "But that's not why I came in, I came in to say that Esmeralda was taking to your secretary and she said that she was looking forward to your lunch date tomorrow." Ryland winked.
"Lunch date?" Chase asked.
"Yes sir, I fixed you up with her." Ryland winked.
"Of course you did." Chase groaned and rubbed his forehead with his left hand. "I don't know why you insist on setting me up with women all the time. I'm fine with my job right now." He said, glancing at the files around him.
"Try telling that to someone who will actually believe that looking at files of women is work." Ryland smirked and Chase glared at Ryland playfully.
"Get to work!" He smiled and Ryland lifted his hands in surrender and got u, turning to the door.
"Just remember, the girl looks engaged in her wallpaper, so make sure she's free." Chase watched as his friend left his office and he sighed, getting rid of the files of the girls that weren't a match.
"Mr. Simmons?" His secretary walked in, smiling a bit.
"Yes?" He asked, setting all the files on one side.
"The company is here to see you." Chase nodded and she stayed there a bit longer. Chase got up; following her out as she held the book he needed for the meeting.
"Alright, everything is set." She smiled at him. Chase nodded and took the book from her hands, walking into the meeting. The group of men stood up as Chase walked in. "Good afternoon gentlemen."

Maddie glared at her last midterm, thinking hard about it before sighing and leaned back into her chair. The guy next to her tapped his pencil on his paper and she looked over at him. He was silently tapping the answer and she nodded, thanking him silently before circling the answer.
I'm slowly losing it. I need coffee.
She thought to herself. She flipped the page, giving her full attention to the test before finishing. She got up, pulling her bag up and turned in the test, walking out of the class. She walked for a bit before a hand grabbed her elbow and spun her around. She looked up, seeing a man looking down at her.
"You are?" She asked, yanking her arm back.
"Chase Simmons, I believe you have my phone?" He said. Maddie nodded and took the phone out of her jacket pocket. She was about to give it to him when she pulled her hand back.
"You found me how?" She asked, glaring at him.
"I'm CEO of Simmons banking. I'm a very important man and therefore can figure out everything about a person by just knowing their name, Madeline Annabella Hender." He smirked. Maddie's eyes widened and she was about to yell at him when he raised his hand.
"That doesn't mean that I know exactly who you are. All I know are the classes you're taking, the school you go to and your dorm number." Maddie shut her mouth, glaring at him. "I hope you can fill me in during dinner? I'll pick you up tonight at seven. And no, you're not engaged." He said, taking his phone from her hand. Maddie snatched her phone from his hand and turned around, stomping away.
Chase grinned, turning the other way and walking to his car.

Chase took the elevator up to Maddie's floor and exited once the doors opened. He saw the empty hall and followed the numbers before finding hers. He fixed his suit, making sure everything was in place when he knocked on the door. He waited for a bit before the door opened and he raised an eyebrow at the guy who stood in front of him.
"You must be why Maddie left." He nodded to himself.
"Maddie left?" Chase asked, Josh nodding.
"It seemed a bit weird. She came in after her last class and took a shower. She changed into her usual clothes and then out she went. I tried asking her what was wrong but she ignored me and out the door she went." Josh said. "I'm Josh, her brother." He stuck his hand out and Chase took it, shaking it.
"Chase Simmons, any idea on where she went?" Chase asked. Josh shrugged and scratched his jaw.
"She could be anywhere." He mumbled. Chase stood there and sighed heavily before Josh got an idea.

Maddie walked to her dorm, yawning and looking at her phone. It was past midnight and she was grateful to the bar a few streets down. She took out her room key and unlocked the door after a few failed attempts. She opened the door, stepping in and closing it behind her. She took her shoes off, her jacket with it as well and hung it on the wall. She was pretty happy she was able to get a week off of school since her teachers were okay with the students taking a breather after midterms. Maddie yawned, turning to her bed and seeing Josh sitting on it and watching TV.
"Someone had a date tonight." He said, briefly looking at Maddie.
"So?" She slurred, laying next to where he was sitting.
"Want to catch lunch tomorrow with me?" He said. Maddie yawned and nodded, turning away. Josh smiled and took his phone out.
All is good, she'll be there at the restaurant at one.
Josh held his phone, sending the text to Chase before laying down next to Maddie and falling asleep.
