Josh rubbed his eyes, blinking a bit and sat up in bed, looking around the room. He pulled the blanket off him, standing up and walking out of the room. He walked to the kitchen, grabbing a glass and filling it with water.
"Can't sleep?" He turned around as Maddie walked in wearing grey sweatpants and a black sports bra.
"Midnight thirst." Josh answered, drinking water. "You?"
"More like midnight hunger." She shrugged and walked into the pantry, grabbing a bag of chips and opening it.
"That's not good for you." Josh smiled, sitting on the counter as Maddie leaned on it next to him.
"Neither is pollution." She grumbled, grabbing a handful of chips and eating them.
"But we can prevent that." Josh nudged her with his elbow.
"And we can also prevent this," Maddie smiled, shoving another handful in her mouth before Josh took the bag from her hands and ate some. Maddie gasped and reached for the bag, but Josh yanked it away and laughed as she grinned at him.
"Come on, back to bed. It's three and we're going shopping tomorrow." Maddie groaned and he mocked her. "Football season starts and the first team that's playing is your beloved Ravens with my Jets so come on." Maddie yawned and nodded, walking to her room.
"Night Josh." She waved her hand, walking in her room.
"Night Madds." He smiled, walking to his room and falling asleep.

"How many boxes?" Maddie asked.
"At least three." Josh answered. "But the glass bottled beer, the twelve pack."
"Why 36?" Maddie began putting the beer boxes in the cart.
"Because it's a football game!" Josh looked at her as he tossed in a few big bagged chips. "Should we get dip?" He asked, putting two jars in the cart.
"Well, you already put it in." Maddie mumbled, grabbing a few two liter pops and putting them in the cart as well.
Josh and Maddie continued through the aisles of the grocery store, Maddie pulling out her phone and seeing the time. "We have two hours until the game starts." She informed Josh and he nodded, heading to the cash register lines.
"Order the pizza, two pepperoni and two barbeque chicken." Josh told her and Maddie nodded, calling the pizza place and ordering. Josh paid for the things and headed off home with Maddie. She walked to her room, changing into her Ravens jersey and Josh pulling on his Jets.
"You're gonna cry today." Maddie smiled at him and stuffed the three boxes of beer in the fridge.
"We'll see about that." Josh grinned and the doorbell rang. "I'll get it." Maddie emptied out a bag of chips into a bowl and placed it on the counter, stuffing two pops in the freezer.
"Madds the pre-game is starting!" Josh called.
"I'm busy!" Maddie yelled, placing the jars on the table and grabbing the bowl of chips, walking to the living room. "Hell no." She froze in her spot, Ryland and Esmeralda sitting on the couch, both wearing Jets jerseys.
"And here I thought we were friends." Ryland looked away as she placed the bowl on the table.
"Same here." She looked at him and he immediately looked back at her. "Sorry about the way I yelled at you guys." Maddie stepped back and looked at Ryland and Esmeralda.
"It was my fault too, so let's both just forget this and continue like it never happened." Esmeralda smiled and Maddie nodded, turning around and crashing into a chest. She looked up to see Chase holding her and he smiled.
"Did you order the pizza?" He asked. Maddie pulled away and walked to the kitchen, Josh smiling.
"Have a seat, Chase. Want a beer guys? Esmeralda, a water or pop?" Maddie rolled her eyes, as Josh offered them drinks and she brought another bowl of chips before the doorbell rang. She walked past Josh as he handed her the money and she opened the front door.
"Two pepperoni and two barbeque chicken?" The man asked. Maddie nodded and took the pizzas, Ryland walking over and helping her.
"I'm doing this for the pizza, not you." He smiled and Maddie rolled her eyes, paying the man. Ryland set the pizza on the coffee table and everyone began grabbing slices as Josh walked in and handed the beers out and gave Esmeralda a cup and serving her pop. Maddie sat on the smaller couch, pulling her legs up and looking up and the TV as the game was ready to start. Chase plopped himself next to Josh on the other couch and Maddie reached over, taking a box of pizza and set it beside her.
"Sharing is caring." Esmeralda spoke up and Maddie looked at her.
"I don't share with Jet fans." She responded and went back to eating her food.
"I've never actually seen a whole football game, mind helping?" Chase told Josh.
"Does that mean you don't own a jersey?" Josh asked and Chase shook his head.
"I have an extra." Maddie stood up.
"No I have an extra Jets one." Josh grabbed Maddie around the waist and pulled her to the spot between him and Chase.
"If I'm the only one in purple, I'm going to shoot myself." Maddie pulled her brother back on the couch as he tried getting up. She stood up, pulling her jersey down and grabbed Chase's wrist, pulling him with her to her room.
"Take off your shirt while I get it." Maddie dropped his wrist, going into her closet. She pushed aside a few sweaters and jeans, taking the hook with her extra jersey and walked out, looking at Chase.
He didn't have a shirt on, and Maddie was pretty surprised to see that he didn't have any sign of a six or an eight pack. His arms were toned and he did have his slender body, but it wasn't extravagant.
"Did I catch your eye?" Chase smiled and Maddie tossed him the jersey.
"Nope." She answered, passing him as he walked behind her, pulling on the jersey. They both walked to the living room as the game started.
Ryland yelled at the TV and Maddie yelled at him. Josh explained the game to Chase as he nodded but watched as Maddie was at the edge of her seat, her eyes glue to the TV as the Ravens made another touchdown and she cheered. Ryland groaning and Josh shook his head. Chase picked his bottle of beer up and noticed it was empty.
"Want another?" Maddie asked and he nodded. She got up, walking to the kitchen and Chase followed.
"The game is getting emotional, huh?" Chase asked and Maddie nodded.
"I used to watch the game with my dad since I was little, with Josh too. Our mom wasn't a huge fan, but she would watch the games, only to calm my brother for teasing me when their team was beating mine." Maddie shrugged. She opened the fridge, grabbing four bottles and setting them on the counter. Chase leaned next to her, watching as she opened them and Maddie looked up at him.
"You're beautiful." He whispered. Maddie rolled her eyes, about to turn away when Chase grabbed her face with both his hands and crashed his lips to hers.
