I took the elevator to the building's lobby. While I waited , I contemplated not going and just running away. Leaving everyone and everything I loved. It almost felt blissfull to imagine it. But the vision was shattered with the 'swish' of the elevator doors. I went in slowly and stood and looked at myself in the mirrored walls. It was then when I realized I didn't care wether I lived or died now. It had to happen sometime. I just hoped that I wasn't wrong.
Everything happened way too fast. Before I knew it the doors were 'swishing' open and I was walking towards the revolving doors looking back one last time.
I walked toward the car at the corner and waited. Soon enough, the black van crawled to a stop and some guy motioned for me to get in. I obeyed and allowed myself one last peek at daylight since I knew I'd never experience the feeling sun's rays against my skin again.
