A few days after I received Crystal's letter, Aaron finally called me. I picked up at the second ring.
- Hello? - I said.
- Hey! Is this by any chance the beautiful girl I met on the subway? - he asked in a teasing tone.
- Why yes, yes it is - I said giggling a bit.
- Well I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me tomorrow. - He said in a gentleman-y voice.
- I'd most certainly like that - I said.
- Then it's settled. Pick you up at seven? -.
- See you there -.
I hung up and a grin spread over my face. I went to my room and started to pick out what I was going to wear. I decided on a cherry red crop top, a creamy white skirt and shiny black combat boots.
I baked a blondie, and ate sushi while watching "center stage" on Netflix. Shortly after that, I went to sleep and my 'exciting' day came to a close. That is until I got to my room.
Everything had been thrown to the ground. my sheets were hanging off the fan and my desk was turned over. Nothing seemed to be stolen but there was a letter neatly placed on my disastrous bed.
I opened it with shaking fingers.
Alexis,
This is a warning. Hand it over now and no one will get hurt. On saturday go to the pier. We'll be waiting inside the funhouse. If you fail to bring it, you die just like your little friend.
I took a few steps back until all that was holding me up was the wall. I was too shocked to cry. The tears came eventually and I was soon on the floor in a bundle of tears and snot. What were they looking for? Why did they kill my best friend? Who the hell were they?
