It was six days after I found Crystal that I called Aaron.
- Hello? - I asked.
- Heey. Is this subway girl? I never caught your name -
His comment surprised me. How did he recognise me?
- Yes it is and it's Alexis by the way. - I said.
- Well hello there, Alexis. Lets figure this out. I was thinking that I could pick you up and then we'd go to the place and then I'd drop you off. Only issue is that I don't know where you live. -. He said, talking fast.
He almost sounded nervous. I suppressed a giggle and forgot to answer his question.
- What do you live in a dumpster or something? Is it that embarrassing? - He asked chuckling.
- It's the Kennedy building on 114th Street. 3rd B. Seven's good - I said.
And with that, I hung up.
At five, I started getting ready. I put on a gray shirt, an oversized blackish-crimson sweater, a cream-colored beanie, some black skinny jeans and black platform shoes. I painted my nails a dark cherry red and did my make-up. I painted my lips a blackish blood red and headed to the lobby.
The elevator doors opened and he was suddenly there. He had a bouquet of flowers in his hand and was leaning casually against one of the decorative chairs. I stood there for what felt like hours staring at him until he finally turned his head and noticed me. I heard him give a small gasp, a surprised look crossing his eyes, but then it was gone and a friendly facade replaced it. I walked towards him. When I was close enough, he mock-bowed and handed me the flowers.
- For you, my lady - he said in a fake and, frankly, very bad British accent.
- Why thank you! - I said accepting the flowers and inhaling their, almost, intoxicating perfume.
- Shall we? - he asked offering his arm.
- Why yes, we shall - I said taking it.
