It took seconds but the anticipation made it feel like ages, and how serious Tessandra looked just made them believe that they didn't make it — but then the woman smiled and he felt in his bones the moment they both relaxed.

"You're in, guys." The woman said really confirming it and Kaycee finally exhaled the air she didn't even know she was holding. "Congratulations!"

It didn't take them a second to hold each other in the tightest hug ever as he whispered in her ear, making her laugh: "I told you."

They shared hugs with the choreographer too and she explained a few things to them before they were free for the day — Sean offered to give her a ride home but she said that she was meeting Bailey close by so they went separate ways.

She walked a few minutes and soon was in the coffee shop with her best friend as they ate breakfast food for lunch — a very late lunch considering it was almost five pm.

"I'm so happy for you guys, there's no way you wouldn't make it, you guys are crazily good together." Said the girl in between some bites of her food. "But speaking about together..."

"Nope." Said Kaycee even before she could finish. "We are not getting there."

"Oh come on, you two are really going to ignore everything that happened between you two?" She asked.

"We are not ignoring it, even because there's no way I can do that." She said eating too. "We're just trying to level the game, you know?"

"No, I don't actually." Said Bailey.

"We rushed things, Bails. We had so many unsolved things and we pretend that we didn't and that was what messed everything up... we thought we could patch the way so we could keep going from where we stopped years ago and that wasn't the way to do it. So now we are just trying to slow things down so we can little by little get somewhere."

"And it isn't hard, I mean being in love with him and not being with him?" She asked.

Kaycee took a deep breath. "Yeah but if it's for us to go there, for us to be together as in more than friends, then one day... things will find a way, I just don't think we can do that now."

"Okay, if you say so... but changing the subject to something happier than that, Josh is giving a party tonight and you have to come to celebrate." Said Bailey and the other thought about complaining but she interrupted. "And there's no way you are saying no."

And she was serious because a couple of hours later, there she was at the party.

Sean didn't know she would be there and being honest he was hoping she wouldn't — yes, he was really trying the whole 'just friends' thing but it was hard to be around her still.

Josh's parties have been an escape from him to everything that has been a mess — sometimes a good one, sometimes a bad one, but always a distraction, and having her there wasn't exactly making it easy for him to be distracted by anything else.

They were going to be not only friends but also partners now, that was too much of time with Kaycee in which he would have to control himself — he needed a break.

"What she's doing here?" He asked approaching Josh — who right away gave a keychain to Sean which he saved in his pocket, a natural move for them.

"Hi for you too." Said Josh and Sean rolled his eyes, saying hi. "She came with Bails, I think."

"Come on, don't be so grumpy." Said Julian, putting an arm around Sean's shoulders. "We don't need to go back into the dark ages of Sean Lew."

"Oh please, we really don't." Agreed Josh. "I thought you guys were cool, weren't you going to talk with her about being just friends or whatever?"
