X-men First-Class au/timeline.

Jessie's eyes looked left and right quickly, making sure that nobody was around her or watching, before she stuffed the jumbo sized pack of sanitary pads into her backpack, followed by two ham sandwiches.

"Ah ma'am, I didn't find the kind of pads I was looking for. I'll just get this bottle of water." She said with a smile directed towards the old woman at the counter, counting out a few coins and paying.

"What type were you looking for, sweetheart?" The old woman asked with a soft smile.

"Um, always ultra, the orange one." She rushed out, wanting to leave the store as soon as possible.

"Okay dear. I'll make sure to stock up on that next month. Have a good day love." The old lady replied, and Jessie felt a pang of guilt hit her heart.

Quickly, she shuffled out of the store heading east wards.

Vernon let out a deep sigh by the dairy section, holding unto a jar of milk.

He had seen what that girl did, and it was very upsetting.

The young man rushed up to the counter and paid the old woman a 25 dollar bill, telling her to keep the change.

He decided to pay for what the girl stole. He's been buying groceries from Mrs. Lei for five years now, and would hate to see her at a loss because of some irresponsible act.

Right hand clutching the paper bag firmly, he made his way towards his home.

"Shit." He muttered angrily.

He had almost tripped on his untied shoelaces.

The man felt too lazy to tie them, so he just tucked them in.

A little noise caught his attention and he looked at the direction from which the noise came from.

It was a girl eating, and it wasn't just any girl, it was that girl that stole from Mrs. Lei.

Anger bubbles within him and he called out her attention.

"You know that old lady works really hard to get by. It's really unfair of you to steal from her." He said and the girl looked up in shock.

Jessie could have sworn that no one saw what she did.

Now the tendrils of guilt tore at her heart and she began to sweat.

Adjusting the strap of her backpack properly, she moved her legs to run but soon found out that she literally couldn't move a muscle, it was like she was frozen.

"Don't even think about it. I would find you wherever you go." He said, but his lips didn't move.

"Did he just talk in my head?" She thought to herself.

"Yes I did." He replied, the same way, now making his way towards her.

"How are you doing that? And this?!" She exclaimed in shock trying to move her body but failing woefully.

"Let's just say you and I are similar." He answered, still not vocally.

"I'm sorry, please don't hurt me!" She cried out, fear filling her being.

"I'm not gonna hurt you." He replied, finally backing her up against a wall firmly.

His intense stare on her made her knees shake, and if she wasn't so terrified right now, she might have found him rather dashing.

Vernon placed a hand on the wall behind the woman's head.

"Oh wow." He said after about a minute.
