This is TamiA couple of months has passed since Hoseok had adopted Tami as his daughter. He loved the child dearly, he really did. They had settled into a nice family routine a few days after she was brought back from the hospital.
He didn't waste a second in changing her preschool, he didn't need to arouse any suspicion from the teachers. He had told her class teacher that Tomi was involved in a fatal accident, and he had taken up on Tami's care.
It still made him chuckle when he remembered how her teacher ate up his sob story. He was at the mall watching his little girl play with other kids on the bouncing castle when the call came in. It was from her class teacher, calling to check on the girl since she had been out of school for months.
"Mr Jung, good day. I've been trying to contact Miss Tomi, but her number doesn't go through." The woman says and Hoseok breathes in deeply, preparing to put on his best depressed act.
"Oh." He says lowly to arouse the attention of the teacher, "S-she's not with us anymore." He says with some sniffles.
"I don't understand sir."
"She passed away three weeks ago in a ghastly car accident. It's been so hard for Tami and I these days." He replied, sniffling some more and speaking as though he was choked up.
The teacher gasped.
"Oh my goodness sir. I'm so sorry for your losses. She was such a kind woman. I'm so sorry again for calling at such a time. Please accept my condolences." The teacher rushed out to say, feeling sad for the man and the child.
"Thank you very much. Tami and I will get better, eventually. Thank you so much for calling, I have to go now. I'll tell Tami you called." Hoseok said, already putting the phone down and stretching his neck.
He didn't bother to hear the rest of what the woman said, and just stared at the phone screen till the call ended.
His eyes went up and he noticed his daughter squealing in laughter as she threw soft balls at some boy who did the same. A wide smile painted itself across his face.
A few minutes later, Tami ran up to him with her arms wide open. She hugged his legs tightly and smiled her wide and cute smile at him while she yelled "Daddy!". Hoseok picked her up and kissed all over her face as she shrieked happily.
"How's my little cutie?" He asked and she held his slim face before squealing "Good!".
That was how their days usually played out. Hoseok had taken two months off work to spend some time with Tami and bond more with her. They would go shopping at the mall, go out for ice cream, hang out in the park, and sometimes kids entertainment centers.
He was incredibly wealthy, and he happily lavished it all on his new daughter. She was such a beautiful five year old, and she looked a lot like her mother. Her gorgeous mother whose equally beautiful fingers laid delicately in his closet.
