As drama started to build with the Salvatore Boarding School Lizzie could feel even more overwhelmed with her life now. She needed a night where she had Rae, but it had been a while since she has snuck out with all the trouble going on, she hoped Rae was okay.
Lizzie put on her jacket and boots as she left her room and snuck out which was harder now but she handled it.
As she arrived at the Grill she saw Rae sitting there her head laying on her arms on the table. She wasn't sure if she was okay, she hoped she was.
Lizzie walked over, she touched Rae's shoulder making her jump and look up, her eyes softened at her.
"Lizzie!"
Rae hugged her out of nowhere!
"Um- are you okay, Rae?" Lizzie asked.
Rae shook her head, Lizzie then noticed the tears falling down the girl's face, "I thought you forgot about me or that something happened to you or- or I don't know!"
Lizzie grabbed her and hugged her again, "I'm here, Rae, I'm here. I just had a whole lot of trouble going on with school."
Rae just bit her lip looking down, her lip quivering, "I'm sorry for being a mess."
"Don't be, I'm here for you," Lizzie grabbed her hand as they sat down, she didn't let go and she hoped Rae was okay with that.
She loved the feeling of her hand. It was soft but a bit rough but not too rough, it was perfect just like the rest of her.
"Can I get you girls anything?" A waitress asked.
"Just a soda for me?" Lizzie asked as she actually brought money this time, "pepsi?"
"Okay, and you?"
Rae just shrugged, Lizzie assumed she didn't bring any money, "I'll pay for whatever you want," she told her.
Rae looked at her surprised she just smiled, "maybe some Fries?"
"Okay, coming right up."
Once they were alone, silence came between them again, except Lizzie hasn't let go of Rae's hand not that she is arguing.
"What's been going on at your school?" Rae asked curious.
Lizzie hesitated, it wasn't like she could tell her, seriously she didn't want Rae in the middle of the supernatural shit.
"Just drama with the students and staff," Lizzie lied.
Rae tilted her head, not really believing her, "okay."
"And you? Are you okay lately?" Lizzie asked.
"Am I ever?" Rae sighed, "my dad is getting worse, he keeps rambling about 'Witches', 'Werewolves', 'Vampires', and even more. Its nuts," she just ran her free hand through her hair, "and I swear my mom just keeps getting more and more shifts to ignore him and with me by addition... Not that she cares."
Lizzie felt anger at Rae's family, they just seemed like bad people, her father obviously knew the truth of the supernatural and her mother was a horrible mother. But she couldn't do anything to help her, her dad refuses to let humans in.
"I'm so sorry," Lizzie looked down feeling bad, she can't do anything to help her, why is she so useless? Lights started to flicker again.
Rae noticed, "look its happening again."
Lizzie looked at her, she didn't realize Rae had realized the flickering of lights, but there was no way she suspected her.
"Maybe I'm going crazy like my dad..."
"Why would you say that?"
Rae just shrugged.
Lizzie was concerned.
With everything going on, there was a chance the Fell girl could have seen something supernatural... But she wasn't crazy and neither was her dad. What would happen if all of the humans found out? Would it be so bad?
"You are not crazy."
They were interrupted by the waitress bringing the drink and fries over, Lizzie gave her the money, Rae was silent the entire time only really mumbling a thank you.
"You know," Rae spoke up, "I really enjoy our restless meetups."
"So do I."
