Lizzie had come back from spring break, she had told Rae she would be gone for a weekend but promised to see her when she comes back.
Once Lizzie was back she was glad, the entire mummy thing was a mess, but really finding out Hope was never the one who said bad things about her and that Josie had actually started that rumor with the addition of the reveal that she had a crush on Hope which was why she did it.
Lizzie was kind of upset that she lied to her but Hope wasnt mad. So she can't be too? She guesses. She needs to talk to Rae.
Lizzie left the boarding school and found herself at the Grill, of course, Rae was sitting at their booth her hair in a ponytail with bangs some strands of hair hanging on her face.
"Lizzie, your back!" Rae gave her a hug.
Lizzie smiled, she noticed the change in Rae's sadness to a bit of happiness lately, maybe it was all thanks to her.
"Did you die without me?" Lizzie joked.
"Almost," Rae frowned as she sat down.
Lizzie tilted her head, "what's wrong?"
"My dad is missing," Rae said not looking surprised.
"What?"
"Well he was talking crazy about vampires being in Mystic Falls and he left to go 'find them'," she rolled her eyes, "he didn't come home. It's been three days."
"Oh god," Lizzie was actually concerned what if a vampire from the school did something? "What is your mom doing?"
"She doesn't care, she says he'll be back."
"I'm so sorry Rae."
"It's fine. It was bound to happen, him going to go chase after grumpkins and snarks," the girl rolled her eyes obviously done with her father.
Silence fell between them, Lizzie could feel Rae didn't want to talk more about it, "so wanna hear more adventures of how horrible I am?"
"Sure," Rae said.
"Well, you remember how I said I hate that Hope girl?" She nodded, "well apparently she never actually said those things. My sister did. Josie had spread rumors so I wouldn't realize she had a crush on Hope..." She looked down feeling guilty.
"That's horrible," Rae commented, "why would she not want you to know?"
"Because apparently I would go after her and I would win her heart," Lizzie said looking down.
Rae sighed, "it's not your fault, this one is on Josie," she grabbed her hand comfortingly.
"I don't know, Rae..."
"Did anything else happen on your spring break?" She asked.
"Mummies," Lizzie said with full seriousness but Rae just laughed and so did Lizzie knowing it did seem like a joke.
"Oh, how fun."
"A mummy on Main Street."
Rae just chuckled, she smiled down, "thank you," Lizzie looked at her, "you made the pain of my dad leaving go away."
"Anything for you," Lizzie told her as she squeezed her hand.
