Lizzie had her first official date with Rae that day. For the first time, they were going to the grill in the day time together as a couple. And she couldn't wait.

Lizzie actually had spent an hour trying to decide her outfit, Josie at the end of it was about ready to strangle her sister. The two had made up when their dad told them about the merge. Finding something like that out only made them want to hold every minute they have together close.

Josie was supportive of Lizzie's new relationship and loved that she found someone she truly loved on her own.

Finally, she picked an outfit and got ready, it was nearing 2 o'clock which was they were meeting, Lizzie was especially nervous now for sure.

"You can do this," Josie told her sister as they sat in the car with their dad, Alaric wanted to drive Lizzie, maybe even give Rae the dad talk after their date, who knows.

"What if I blow it?" Lizzie asked.

Josie smiled laughing a bit.

"What?"

"It's just," she shook her head, "Rae makes you a different person, a better person, I'm already loving you two."

Lizzie just smiled.

They arrived at the Grill, Lizzie practically wanted to die then and there, Alaric laughed at his daughter's face.

"Come on, it's not that bad, you can do this," Alaric told her, "you are Elizabeth Saltzman, you have done so much, you organize huge events, you work for the things you want and you always win. Treat this the same way."

"And don't forget to be true yourself," Josie added.

"I love you guys," Lizzie told them as she got out.

The blonde walked into the Grill nervously, it had so much more people in it than it usually did around 1 am. Duh, since late hours are much different than day hours.

Lizzie didn't see Rae, she must be here first, she took a seat at their usual booth that was so luckily open. She tapped her nails nervously on the oak table waiting.

"I noticed you were by yourself," Rae's voice made her look over expectingly, she was impressed, Rae was dolled up, she had a black dress on and her usual combat boots, her hair brushed out and parted to one side to look nicer.

"Quoting the awkward me from practically two months ago now?" Lizzie asked smiling, "how low."

"Hey," Rae said her voice turned serious, "that's my girlfriend your talking about."

Lizzie just laughed and so did Rae.

Rae sat down across from her, "it's weird being here in the day time."

"I know," Lizzie agreed.

Rae smiled as she looked around, "did you know that according to my dad Damon Salvatore who is also a Vampire blew this place up because there were a gaggle of Travelers in Mystic Falls trying to take over everything?"

"What?" Lizzie asked shocked, she had read that in her dad's files... How the hell does Rae's father know about that?

Rae laughed loudly, "sorry I just like using my dad's insanity for jokes," she smiled brightly, "plus I don't think Vampires, if they were real, could have kids and Damon Salvatore has a daughter so."

"You've been reading more of those journals huh?" Lizzie asked.

"Yeah," Rae shrugged, "I'm just realizing how crazy my dad is- was- who knows."

Lizzie grabbed her hand, "why don't we ignore the drama of our families and just enjoy," she breathed, "us today because it is us, always."

"Okay," Rae agreed sweetly.

They ordered some drinks and food as they talked and joked around, even shared some dreams and stuff, Lizzie felt so happy and she could tell Rae was too. They were both always the sad girls in the Grill at 1 am...

But they found peace and happiness in eachother.

They left the grill to go walk around the park, Lizzie was telling Rae that she had to go on a Field Trip soon. Except it wasn't your average field trip but she couldn't tell her that.

She would be going with Hope to go save Landon who needs them. They all are. Hope gathered like a number of them to help her. Lizzie just needed to see Rae, just in case, just in case anything could happen.

"You'll be back right?" Rae asked.

"Of course," Lizzie nodded, the real response was swirling in her head: I hope.

"Okay," Rae smiled, "as long as you come back to me I'm cool with it. Anyways my mom has the next few days off and says she'll spend it with me which is surprising actually."

"Maybe she is an evil plan in stock," Lizzie joked.

Rae laughed loudly, "I wouldn't doubt it!"

They noticed some ice cream, Lizzie paid for two ice creams for the two of them, as they ate it and sat down with eachother. Lizzie stopped licking hers for a second to stare.

How odd was it?

To fall for someone who you probably would never have met if she hadn't decided to sneak out that night?

A human.

A human and a siphoner witch.

God, Rae doesn't even realize, maybe she should tell her. Her dad already has filled her mind with it, although Rae sees her father as insane so. Lizzie is honestly, very unsure on what to do.
