Cave

20 2 1

A small speck of light shines through
A dark abyss with some hope at the end
You run towards your victory
Finally out of this nightmarish place
All of the monsters inside
will soon be memories
Everything that happened here
They'll stay here
The light becomes larger as you approach it
Each step brings a new amazing thought
The future
What it beholds
What life will soon be
What it's like without the bruises and scars
Without the monsters inside
Without the nights in the cold cave
You get so close to the light
at the end of the tunnel
You out stretch you're hand to touch the light
Wanting to feel it on your freezing skin
But your body is pulled backwards
The monster drags you back into the horror
You scream and yell
You squirm in the arms of the beast
Begging it to let you free of its grasp
But the monster won't listen
They never listen
You watch as the light becomes smaller
As with your hope
You feel the emptiness once again
What you so wanted to be over
All the feelings are drained out of you
Now you're just a lifeless body
Walking around the familiar cave
The cave of your mind
