Heaven [1984] by Bryan Adams | written by Bryan Adams and James Douglas Vallance

For as long as I could remember, music had played a critical role in my life. It wasn't just a hobby or a pastime for me—it was a way of expressing my innermost feelings and nothing in the world seemed to put into words the way that I felt more than the soothing ballad of Give Me Forever (I Do) playing in the background.
I knew my proposal to elope had been sudden and unexpected, but I'd never felt more sure about anything in my life than I did about pulling Michelle into my arms, kissing her with every stir of emotion that raced through my veins, and declaring her to the world as my wife.
We could've been the only two people left on the planet and that would've been more than enough for me as I ran my fingers through her hair and breathed in her flowery scent as she cupped my face in her soft hands and her delicate lips melted under mine. The warmth of the kiss trailed me from head to toe even in the chill of the winter air. I was lost in her and I never, ever wanted to be found.
The only thing that caught my attention, was the feeling of the small hand tugging on my sleeve and I broke the kiss for the moment to see the beautiful brown eyes staring up at me.
"Daddy?" Nicky asked and the smile on my face only widened as I scooped him up.
"Yes, buddy?"
He looked over at Grandpa Allan shyly and then back at me, "I do too."
Michelle grinned in delight as her gorgeous hazel eyes glittered underneath the Christmas lights and our family let out a chorus of laughs and claps.
I smiled so brightly my cheeks ached, "I'm glad you do, kiddo. I love you so, so much," I peppered him with kisses and he giggled uncontrollably.
"Mommy and Daddy just got married!" Michelle beamed.
"Really?" Nicky asked.
"Really," I smiled and gave him a squeeze.
Grandpa Allan smiled, "Ladies and Gentleman, it is with great honor that I present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Knight and their precious son, Nicholas Knight with all the blessings and well wishes in the world. Congratulations you three!"
"Thank you, Grandpa," I said as I pulled Michelle into me for another kiss with my free arm while I held our son with my other.
She nuzzled into me and I heard the snap of the camera before I turned to see all of our family members moving towards us with hugs and well-wishes.
"That was beautiful, Nate, absolutely beautiful. You're a perfect bride, Michelle, I couldn't stop crying," Mom shook her head and hugged us both tightly as she sniffled.
"I couldn't help it either, I shed a couple of tears," Dad admitted as he hugged me. "Congratulations, son, I love you, and I couldn't be happier for you. Welcome to the Knights, Michelle. I think it's a good name."
"If you choose to take it," I said quickly.
Michelle tilted her head back slightly to look up at me as she held onto my arm and her eyes danced, "I kind of think Michelle Knight has a nice ring to it, don't you?"
I grinned, "I think it's perfect."
Dad smiled, "I'm biased, but I have to agree."
"Mrs. Knight is a great title to have sweetie, trust me," Mom squeezed Michelle once again.
