"Do I look okay?" Maria chewed her lower lip nervously as she turned from side to side and stood before the floor length mirror in her brand new master bedroom and the white material of her gown twirled around her.

She looked far more than okay—like a beautiful princess who'd stepped right out of a storybook, but I tried my best not to start crying all over again as I nodded, "You look gorgeous sweetie, absolutely gorgeous."

"Tony's going to lose it the second he sees you," her best friend, Zoe McArthur—soon-to-be Abernathy squealed as she snapped a picture and then looked into the screen of her fancy DSLR.

"You're like a princess, Mommy," Gracie grinned as she sat on the floor in a pretty mini dress of her mother's to be flower girl and played building blocks with her younger sisters, Faith and Hope who were also dressed in matching cranberry dresses to go along with the autumn wedding theme.

"That's what I was going to say too," Michelle agreed as she adjusted a sleeping Jamie in her arms and kept an eye on Mattie who was happily babbling away while holding onto the bed and trying his best to walk around it.

For a moment, I gazed at my grandchildren and missed Nicky, who I knew was more than happy to be a 'big boy' and getting ready with his Daddy and Papa and Uncle Logan and all the guys over at Katherine's house with Tony.

The past year had been full of major milestones: wedding planning, house building, and getting GFH, Inc. up and going for Maria and Tony, adoption finalizations and job changes for Nate and Michelle as they'd settled their family and Nate had started up a radio show in Boston with his best friend, Wes, while Michelle had come home to be with the little ones, Natalie had gone to junior prom with DJ in the spring and she'd recently started sending off applications to colleges as she entered her senior year of high school, and Logan had just started his sophomore year with being promoted to the Varsity baseball team early after leading his JV team to state championships three years in a row.

There had also been a myriad of other special events from first Thanksgivings and Christmases for Faith, Hope, Matthew, and James to birthdays all throughout the year for all of us, but through all of those events, I'd yet to fully comprehend that today my oldest daughter was getting married and heading off on her honeymoon to Paris with her husband. I was excited and emotional all at the same time.

"So do we think veil or no veil?" Maria asked as she held it up to her head. "I'm kind of leaning towards putting flowers in my hair, but I don't know. Should I go traditional and keep the veil?"

"I don't think any of us in this family have really gone traditional with weddings, sweetie," I smiled and Michelle chuckled. "If you like the flowers, I say go with that. You look beautiful either way."
