After conferring with Earth's Grand Master Jedi, Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell assembled his elite team, SG-1. Dr. Rodney McKay, Jonas Quinn, and Vala Mal Doran comprised this well-oiled unit under Mitchell's command. He believed four members offered the perfect balance of expertise and maneuverability for frontline operations. Despite suggestions to expand the team, Mitchell valued their established cohesion and resisted adding more personnel.

Mitchell couldn't pinpoint the reason, but perhaps it was a subconscious echo of tradition. The original SG-1 had always operated with four members, and with them now ascended to Jedi Knighthood, it felt right to maintain that structure. While Dr. McKay's personality could be grating at times, Mitchell acknowledged his indispensability. Replacing him would necessitate a larger team, a reality Mitchell aimed to avoid.

On the missions that Grand Master Jedi Sam O'Neill got him on, he needed McKay's intelligence very much. "I wonder why we're holding out on just four members; they all had their incredible skills. They might not be Force-sensitive, but they can do a lot."

Skipping the formalities, Mitchell dove straight into the mission. They were veterans, keenly aware of the escalating crisis. His role was to relay Grand Master Jedi Sam O'Neill's directives. SG-1 would act as a crucial liaison between the Alliance's combined military forces and Earth's own troops. While they had experience coordinating operations, the scale of this looming war dwarfed anything they'd faced before. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Mitchell led SG-1 to gear up and depart for Coruscant via the Stargate.

The commander introduced himself as Major Mitca Clmur.

He introduced himself and said, "I'm here on the orders of Grand Master Jedi Knight of Earth, Samantha O'Neill. This is my team, Jonas Quinn, Vala Mal Doran, and Dr. Rodney McKay."

"Yes. I have been expecting you all. Thank you for coming. All the Alliance is familiar with Earth. It would be great to have someone from Earth to help us all out. Earth is your planet."

Mitchell simply smiled, "No reason to explain, Major. I understand. I've been in your position several times. It's always better to have help from someone that knows the terrain better than you do. I think that is why Sam got us to come here."

Major Clmur introduced his officers to them. He also allowed all the SG1 members to read the journals and other documents of what the Alliance has been doing on helping Earth with battling Emperor Palpatine.

While out of earshot of the Alliance, McKay asked, "Mitchell, after reading all of this, I think we will simply be in the way."

"Before I got all of you together to come here, I talked with General Davis. From what he told me, we will be the ones that are guarding the elite team that will fight Emperor Palpatine. Sam didn't tell me this because of security. The Jedi Knights here have told us there are spies in the ranks."

"I'm sure that the Jedi Knight can pluck these individuals out," Vala stated.

"They were about to do so, but Sam had a better idea. She convinced the Jedi Council it would be better to let it go."

"I see, let them think they have the upper hand. As an old Earth saying goes, 'Keep your friends close and your enemies closer,'" Jonas said.

"They've been able to give these operatives false information, and they appear to accept it as genuine."

"Palpatine would realize this is a hoax," Vala replied.

"We think he has been allowing his forces to work alone. We all think his primary aim is to get Sam to be a new host. Everyone, our mission is to make sure that doesn't happen. They have ordered us to watch after these elite Jedi Knights and make sure that nothing happens to them."
