"I'll hold your hand the entire time, it'll hurt like hell, but I'll be there for you baby, I swear you can squeeze my hand the whole labor..." Zara kissed my hand and smiled big at me. "I promise I'll take care of you, my queen, and our little prince or princess that's coming."
I was 4 months pregnant and getting a bit of a belly now, and all Zara wanted to do was rub and kiss it. We were both excited for this family we were about to have in a few months, but I think she was more excited than anyone on this whole earth was about anything. "Zaraaaaaaa baby... You sure you ready for this baby?"
Her face dropped. "Don't play with me Dee, I told you already I want this baby, I want this family with you... Since we've discovered this pregnancy, don't you seen how we've grown closer over the couple week's time?" She was right, actually. In this past 3 weeks, me and Zara have just grown closer than we've EVER been. Zara, being the big CEO she was for her bookbag company, had always been busy before... She DID pay me mind, but she just seemed to work a lot and I really found myself missing her a lot. But now? She was coming home earlier, even staying home and sleeping in with me sometimes! She was making me breakfast, cooking dinner all the time, and she even let me design a couple bags for the line!! (Something she reaaaaaaally was never trying to do, never ever.) Me and Zara came together more and more and I was loving it. It was making me realize how much of my heart this girl filled, how much I honestly loved her. So while we grew closer, I was devising a plan to show her how much I loved her.
Chilly October was slowly turning into an even chillier November. As November was coming in, that clearly meant Zara's birthday was coming up. I had 3 weeks to plan something special for her birthday, and I really wanted it to be special enough for her, because she deserved so much, so I decided on a surprise party for her... I was thinking about it while she was talking to me, and that CLEARLY pissed her off.
"DEE. Ummmmm... You look half asleep, you listening to me? I wanna look for a nice big condo, so me, you and lil bit can live comfortably... I want us to be in a gooooood place baby, I want to bring that baby up into the most love possible... Because you know how I feel about families and lo-" I kissed her cheek, and she paused herself and kissed me.
Duh, I know how you feel about that shit, which is why I want you to understand that I will always love you, that's why I'm planning this party you ass.
"Baby, yes I know exactly how you feel about that, but hey, you have me to love you, and soon this baby girl or boy. So we can be exactly what you want us to be, our little family with our real love. Okay? I promise you." She knew I never made a promise I couldn't keep, so her mood brightened instantly.
"Dee, do you understand" She kissed me, and we laid out on our white sheets. "That I love you" Another kiss... "SOOOO MUCH?" The longest kiss of the three, and then a kiss to my tummy. "And I love you too, lil bitty baby." She kissed my stomach again, and then passed me a black satin pillow. "Put this under you baby, I want your back to be comfortable..." I felt it was so cute how much she cared, so I did as she asked.
"Baby, I'm been meaning to ask you... Are we going to keep the sex of mini-me a surprise?" I looked at her with wide eyes. "It's what you want babe, so tell me now."
"I think it should be a secret to us as well as anyone else because..."
Started rambling about why she thought it shoule be a secret till the birth, and my mind drifted off.
How will I get this stubborn fool to ANY damn venue for a suprise party? What's she going to wear? What am I going to wear?! My little pouch of a pregnant stomach is gonna piss me off no matter what I try on!!! Who will I invite?... Her little bit of family that she still speaks to, her work friends, some of our high school friends, and her close fri- Oh god... Tonya.
