Hela was woken up to falling on a cold, stone floor. The first thing she noticed was she was wet. The second thing she noticed was Prince Vegeta was standing in front of her with his arms crossed. She stood up quickly, looking at the strange pod she just fell out of. A door opened behind Prince Vegeta. Her eyes widened as Kakarot walked in, a smile on his face.
"You're finally awake," He exclaimed happily, "you've been in there for hours."
"In what?" Hela questioned, looking at the strange machine.
"A Rejuvenation tank. It's a new technology we received from a potential ally," Prince Vegeta stated.
"And who would that be?"
"None of your business,"
Hela nodded her head, knowing better than to argue with the Prince. He was known to be cruel and she didn't feel like fighting him sooner than she had to. Kakarot walked next to Hela, smirking as he put an arm on her shoulder. Hela smiled before turning her attention back to the prince. He was not happy.
"Tell me how you do it so easily." Prince Vegeta growled, leaning against the stone walls.
"If you were more specific on what 'it' was, I would be happy to answer," Hela stated.
Kakarot's eyes widened, "What she means, Prince Vegeta, is-"
"Watch your tongue," Vegeta snapped at Hela, cutting Kakarot off, "I am above you."
Hela bit her tongue, her eyes narrowing at the arrogant prince, "My apologies, what do I do so easily? Oh, great Prince Vegeta."
Kakarot's eyes stayed locked on Hela. The sarcasm was dripping from her voice and as much as he liked being alive, if Vegeta were to attack her he would have to save her. He only hoped that Prince Vegeta didn't snap. Life of a Saiyan is something he enjoyed but he's known Hela for over a decade.
"Your power level rises much faster than any of my warriors. Your power level should be low yet the two of you have reached a power level over 9,000," Prince Vegeta snapped, stalking towards Hela.
They stood inches from one another, Prince Vegeta staring almost angrily at the woman before him. He was only a few inches taller than her but his stare made Hela feel like she was a child. She hated that feeling. Kakarot pulled Hela towards him, away from the prince. There was tension between the two so thick you could cut it with a knife. But it was so intense the knife should be sharpened before being used.
"To answer your question, we train. It was Hela's idea to start sparring with one another. She also was the one who said we should learn how to make it appear that our power levels remained unchanged so that no one would question or attempt to fight one of us," Kakarot stated.
Prince Vegeta peeled his eyes away from Hela, looking at Kakarot. "Your father is a general. Is he not?"
"He is,"
"Then I suggest you bite your tongue, I was talking to this one. Not you. Unless you want your father to be set back to a lower class warrior,"
"Don't threaten him," Hela snapped suddenly, her eyes showing the anger.
"Who do you think you are? You-"
"Son, has she awoken yet?" A new voice echoed into the conversation.
A few moments of silence later King Vegeta walked in, his cape swooping through the room. Hela lowered her gaze from Prince Vegeta, turning to face the King. Everyone in the room, including the prince, bowed as he entered. King Vegeta looked at his son, noticing the tension in the room. Kakarot let out the breath he hadn't realized he was holding. He was grateful that someone with more power than the prince had shown up.
"I see you've been awake. Was my son giving you a hard time?" King Vegeta questioned Hela.
"Yes," Hela answered.
"She's being a brat,"
"Hush Vegeta, I am talking with the two. Leave,"
Hela smiled as she watched the Prince of all Saiyans trudged out of the room. Before he left he turned, making eye contact with Hela once more. She gave him a smirk and a wink before he scowled and walked away. Once he left, King Vegeta talked to the two Saiyans. They explained everything they did to the King. He listened intently, nodding his head as the two discussed. After they finished talking King Vegeta walked to the door, opening it swiftly.
"Follow me," He stated.
Hela took a deep breath as she walked behind the King. Kakarot saw her hesitance and grabbed her hand, giving her a soft smile. He wasn't usually this nice but something about Hela made him feel different, calmer. Hela squeezed his hand but soon let it go. Hela watched the stone walls pass by as she walked. The walls were boring. The stone floor was boring. Hela was bored.
After walking down a flight of stairs to the basement, Hela was almost convinced she was about to attack the King and try to escape the palace before he sent her into a dungeon. But as they rounded a corner she didn't see any cages. Instead there was a book on a pedestal. Without a word, he opens the book to the first page.
"Have you two heard of a Super Saiyan?" King Vegeta questions.
Hela's interests were piqued. Her brow raised as she looked at Kakarot who was equally as confused. King Vegeta rubbed her beard before turning to face to two Saiyans. Looking at them, he let out a sigh.
"There is a legend of a Saiyan that lived long before our Planet was ours. His name was Yamoshi. It is said he could become a legendary Super Saiyan. Many of us attempted to turn into a Super Saiyan but the power would destroy the weak. We have yet to have a Saiyan able to transform,"
"What happened to Yamoshi?" Hela questioned. For some reason, the name sounded familiar. As if she knew him.
"He died in an attempt to reach something more powerful," King Vegeta stated before turning back to the book.
"Join me." King Vegeta said, flipping through the pages of the book.
Hela was caught off guard. Kakarot's eyes widened also, completely confused. When the two didn't reply, King Vegeta turned back to face them. He looked into their eyes, noticing the confusion.
"You two could be the key to unlocking the legendary Super Saiyan. Join me. You can do whatever you please. Live in luxury. We just need you two to try your hardest to become a Super Saiyan,"
"We're just lower class Saiyans," Hela argued.
"Kakarot's a lower class Saiyan. The reader tells me that but he is much more. But you are read as an Elite level. Even when I look at you with the reader it glitches, which never happens. You two will fight for me and if you prove yourself, you could be commanders of my army,"
The promise of power lit a lightbulb in Hela's eyes. It intrigued her to the core. She nodded her head, "I'll do it."
Kakarot looked at the woman next to him, a sigh threatening to escape. Half of him wanted to just go back to his house but he couldn't leave her alone. He took a step towards the King. The King made eye contact with him, his eyebrow raised in a silent question.
Nodding his head, Kakarot sighed, "I'll join."
King Vegeta nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. He beckoned the two to follow him as he walked back to the stairs, the book tucked in his cape. They followed him up the stairs and to the throne room. Prince Vegeta was sitting in his chair next to his father's throne, talking with his right-hand man Nappa who had returned from a mission. He spotted his father walking in with the two Saiyans and waved Nappa away. Standing up, Prince Vegeta walked to meet his father in the middle of the cold, stone room.
"Tell one of the handmaids to prepare two rooms," King Vegeta stated.
"They are staying with us?"
"They will be taking orders from me from now on. You and Hela will fight tomorrow but from then on they will be doing the missions I tell them to," King Vegeta explained.
A scowl was evident on Prince Vegeta's face, "Yes father." He seethed.
