Blasts of energy echoed through the air on Planet Vegeta. Hela cling to her husband as he stared at the sky. In front of them was a large casket, ready to be put into the royal family's large mausoleum. Horns blared as more Saiyans, including Bardock, releases energy blast once more. It was loud as Hela looked at the casket in front of her. King Vegeta was dead. As the ceremony ended, Prince Vegeta stormed inside, his head held high. Everyone watched as Hela sighed. She dismissed everyone before following her husband.
They had been home a week. Over twenty Saiyans who aligned themselves with Cooler were slaughtered on sight. A mountain of bodies were destroyed, all of different aliens that worked for Cooler. Her bones were healed after being in the healing pod for a day, but her mind still wondered. Tomorrow was the biggest day of the week for Prince Vegeta. Tomorrow was the day he would take the crown of the king.
Walking into the great hall, Hela looked at her pacing husband. His hair bounced as he paced, telling her that he was thinking hard. Silently approaching him, she sat down on one of the metal tables. He continued to pace, not glancing at her. It didn't bother her, she knew he was in a state of distress. Even if he Saiyan pride wouldn't admit it.
"How many do you think?" Vegeta asked, not looking from the stone floor.
"For what?"
He stopped his pacing, glancing at Hela, "how many do you think will try to fight me?"
Prince Vegeta was worried about tomorrow. It was customary during a crowning that if anyone thinks they could do better, they'd be given the chance to fight. She shrugged her shoulders.
"I wouldn't be worried about anyone who can't go Super Saiyan. We have only five other Saiyans able to go to a regular super saiyan, and three of them are part of our close knitted group. So, other than Kakarot, Bardock, and Raditz, the only people you would have to be worried about is Wayter and Jewce."
(names pronounces water and juice)"They wouldn't dare," he snapped with narrow eyes.
"They might. They were off planet during Cooler's raid, didn't come back until the news of King Vegeta's death came. You need to be prepared. Rules state they can both attack you at the same time."
"I have more tricks up my sleeve than they think," he almost bellowed out.
Hela smiled, getting up and putting her hands on her husband's chest, "come on honey, let's go for a walk."
He didn't argue with her. He knew better than that. Letting her take his hand, they walked back to the large double doors. Releasing him, she opened the doors and walked out. The air changed the instant the two walked out. It was quieter than it once was, with people giving them nervous stares.
Walking through the city, Hela watched as kids were back on the streets, laughing and play fighting with one another. Life was back to normal. Vegeta scowled as they walked, his brain moving at a mile a minute. Hela noticed his far off look so she stopped at a meat store, buying one of her favorite comfort foods. It was three different animal meats on a stick, with enough spice to make a child cry. Handing him one, she gave him a soft smile.
"I don't know what I'm going to do," he admitted to her.
"We will figure it out," She told him in a calm manner.
"How the hell are you so calm in this situation?" He sighed, taking a bite of his food.
"Because I know you," she answered, "you are going to be a great king."
"How do you know?" He snapped, his mouth half full of meat.
She grinned, "because you're you. And your instinct is impeccable. Your pride is the strongest feature you have and when you are the king you will have more pride for your people than anyone else,"
He didn't say anything but she could tell he felt more relaxed. His muscles released, giving his built body a more relaxed look. His eyes were still narrow but she didn't expect him to stop worrying all together. She just wanted him to feel better.
They walked home holding hands. That was something new for Vegeta. Usually they'd only hold hands in private. He didn't hate it though. In fact, it comforted him in the current situation.
That night Hela slept with Vegeta. They were no longer going to sleep in separate rooms. Hela had made that decision the day they had arrived on Planet Vegeta. They would be the future of the Saiyan Race and it was time they accepted that. One small part of that was the husband and wife sleeping in the same room, as soon they would King and Queen.
