why people ship them:
the main plot point in captain marvel is that Carol has lost her memory, and in the heart of her memories is Maria Rambeau, a fellow pilot and "best friend". in the movie we learnt that after Carol was believed to have died, Maria had kept all of her stuff (which would usually have gone to next of kin, hmmm). Maria and her daughter Monica have many photos of them spending Christmas and other holidays together, being a total family. (+ Brie ships it, which is absolutely AMAZING)
Do I ship it?
This ship quickly made it's way up to my top ships along with stevebucky and thorbruce. It's just so adorable and authentic I love it.
(ps i think I'm going to edit a few of the pages, because I published this book a year ago and my opinions on so many ships have changed)
