~Iris' POV~

I woke up at about three AM after I'd gone to bed, the rest of the house filled with a screaming silence. I hadn't ever liked silence much, but it was nice, surprisingly. Cassie slept quietly beside me, laid on her stomach with her dark hair strewn all about.

Carefully and quietly, not wanting to wake her up, I climbed out of bed and headed to my dresser for clothes to change into after showering. I then headed into the bathroom, taking a quick shower before I got out and changed, feeling more awake and clean. After I was dressed, I left my room, aware that I still needed to do the dishes. Although my sleep schedule hadn't been completely wrecked, not by any means, I still wished I'd have been able to sleep until at least seven AM. I wouldn't have anything to do these next few hours because everyone was asleep. I guess that was alright, though, because then I wouldn't have to deal with anyone else dirtying more dishes while I was cleaning them and then adding their dirty ones to what I was already doing. I hated when people did that.

I headed quietly down the hall, my light footsteps being the only noise throughout the entire house. When I reached the living room, I realized I might've not been the only one awake like I had previously thought. Light shone out from the kitchen, but there was no noise coming from the dining room nor the kitchen. That was the only light that was on in the whole house, which was weird because all of the lights were always turned off when everyone was asleep. As I headed into the dining room, Luke came rushing out of the laundry room out of the blue, his clothes disheveled and his hair messy. I cast him a disgusted look, shaking my head at him. He had a bedroom. Did he really need to get down and dirty in the laundry room?

The girl came out after him, who I recognized as Sheila, a girl who was staying here, and she smiled at me before she casually stalked off. I gave her a smile back, heading into the kitchen.

Luke, however, stayed with me in the dining room and kitchen area, for some reason. "Why haven't you finished these damn dishes already?" He snapped, causing me to raise my brows. So that was why he had stayed in here. "Maybe because I've been sleeping, you shithead. I said I'd do them after I got up." I scoffed, rolling my eyes. His blue eyes narrowed at me and he scanned his eyes over me, seeming to realize my hair was wet from a shower. "Well, hurry up." He demanded, entering the kitchen closer to me while I stood by the sink. I glared at him, crossing my arms over my chest. "Luke, please shut up. I said I was going to do it and I'm going to. Don't tell me to hurry up." I scowled, peering up at him irritably.

He glared back at me, leaning against the counter. "You're the one who slept for over twelve hours. Now get started." He demanded, causing me to roll my eyes. "Go away. You're an idiot." I muttered, turning away towards the sink.

I turned the faucet on and began doing the dishes, opening the dishwasher so I could load them in after I cleaned them. As I had expected, Luke didn't leave completely, but he did sit in the dining room at the table. I quietly hummed to myself as I washed the seemingly endless amount of dishes, piling the dishwasher one after another after another. "Can you stop humming?" Luke suddenly hissed from the table, causing my gaze to snap up over to him.

My brows raised and I stared at him, beginning to hum louder.

His eyes narrowed into slits, clenching his hands into angry fists as he peered over at me. "You're so infuriating." He noted lowly, scowling. I only snorted slightly, unaffected by his way of insulting me. "Thanks." I said flatly, continuing to wash the dishes. I could feel his gaze on me still and my eyes lifted to his, the both of us just glaring at each other. "Can I help you with something?" I snapped.

"Yeah, you can. Get me a soda." He answered, leaning back in his chair. I snorted and flipped him the finger, my hand wet with water. "Get your own soda. I'm not your servant." I stated, shaking my head. He never got up, so I assumed he didn't want one too bad.
