im not that far pt.1

so so so sorry it's been a while but a bunch of stuff is happening and I'm not really sure how to deal with it.. this oneshot was based on something that almost happened to me about 2-3 ish weeks ago ?? anyway this is a part 1 & I hope you enjoy !!

another thing, the only reason I'm doing parts on this is cause

a.) I'm not sure how to finish it

b.) i felt bad for not updating

It was Tyler's goodbye party. He invited his friends and family from all over town. He was moving 4 hours away from Columbus, and he had a mix feeling of happiness and anxiety. He was looking forward to a fresh start. A new beginning where he could forget his past, and start a new life.. but he didn't want to leave his loved ones.

He grew up there 16 years ago, and now he's leaving it because his dad got a new job. He doesn't have a choice on whether he can stay or not. The one person he truly cared about was staying behind.

Joshua.

They've known each other for more than half their lives. They could tell each and every detail on the others body. They love and cherished each other; Tyler wanted to stay or have Joshua come with him, but that wasn't an option. He would be 273 miles away from his best friend, and Tyler couldn't bear the thought.

There were photos, tears, and videos spread throughout the party. Tyler asked Joshua to stay the night one more time before he leaves. Joshua of course said yes.

The two were currently snuggling, holding each other as tight as they could. They always did this when one of them were sad. Joshua was going to miss Tyler so much, and couldn't imagine seeing his best friend, his crush, leave.

Joshua is deep in his thoughts and zones out. He's not particularly looking anywhere but feels a couple of tears leaving his eyes. He blinks them away quickly and the pink haired boy bites back a sob as he feels his breath become jagged. Tyler looks down at his best friend and feels a pain in his chest.

"Joshie what's wrong?" Tyler asks, even though he knows the answer. Joshua finally let's out the sob he's been fighting to escape. He buries his head in the taller's neck continuing to cry.

"I-I do-don-dont w-want you t-t-to go" he chokes out loudly.

Tyler feels his eyes fill up with tears, threatening to spill out at any second. He didn't want to leave the only person he cared about in this damned world. His partner in crime, his bestest buddy, a soft sensitive boy, the love of his life.

Tyler didn't really know if he meant that platonically or romantically. He knew he loved his best friend and couldn't imagine a world without him, but if he were to get with him, would a long distance relationship work?

"T-Ty-Tyler please don't g-go, I l-lo-love you and I'll m-miss you and I-I-I c-cant do it of you-you are g-gone" Josh rambles out. Tears soaking Tyler shirt. The brown haired boy starts to cry also, clutching onto the smaller one.

As Tyler thinks more and more about Joshua, he does realize he in fact love him more than a friend. How could he have been so blind? All the times they spent together were more like a couple than best friends. They held hands, kissed each other everywhere but the lips, or just had to be touching each other in some way in order feel safe.

"Josh please, you know I can't stay, please don't make it harder" the cocoa haired hue spoke out, voice cracking. "I- I love you too joshie" he says with a frown, more tears spilling.

Josh freezes, realizing what Tyler just said. "y-yo-you w-what?"
