Im updating cus I finally finished this part and it took a while to actually do cus I had to do some research. Anywho it's inspired (but not alot) by the song 'absinthe' by I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME

The year is 1692. Slavery had become a thing, wars were happening, and many more things innocent Joshua didn't know about. Joshua's mother has always been protective of her little one... Maybe a little too protective. Since the new witch trials were coming out, she had to make sure her precious baby (who was actually 12, not a baby) will be safe from the sinful, devil worshipping, unholy bastards.

Joshua's mother always told him 'never get in contact with witches or wizards.. if you see one, then hold your cross up and say hail Mary until they leave'. Josh was always on the look out, to make sure no witch or wizard can harm him like his momma said. He had his cross blessed multiple times to make sure of so!
But pure young Joshua's innocence was ruined by him seeing something he thought only sinners or devil worshipers saw...a demon.

This demon was worse then what people said they looked like. They weren't red, have little horns that matched their complection, or the arrow tipped tail. Demons were made to scare the person looking at them. They changed form to make sure they terrify the mortal glancing upon them.

For Josh, this demon was giant. He had a layer of slime covering his body, fat dripping down the skin, lousy hooded eyes, fangs that would kill in an instant, and claws that could scratch far worse than his cat.

Joshua had taken a nap by the tree he always played near. It was a good distance from his home, let alone his village. He was awaken by a low growl and a wet substance on his face. The demon was hovering over his entire body with drool dripping onto him. Once he realized he wasn't dreaming anymore he scurried quickly until his back hit his favorite tree. He was so petrified that his throat wouldn't let him scream. He felt tears fall from his eyes to his flushed cheeks. His momma's voice rang in his head and took out his rosary. His voice wabbled while he said the prayer. The demon seemed unfazed. He used his massive claw to yank away the cross and throw it somewhere else.

"recedet ab eo. non faciunt aliquid mali, et tu times eum. ire ad infernum, ubi vos pertinent aut ego nocet, sicut nec in aliis." A young voice said.

(back away from him. he didn't do anything wrong and you're scaring him. go back to hell where you belong or i will harm you like no other.)

A boy in his teens was walking towards him and the demon slowly. The demon looked at the other boy and faced him. The taller teen looked at Josh and motioned with his head to leave the area. Josh stood up and quickly ran the opposite direction. He stood and hid behind a water well far enough to keep a safe distance, but close enough to see what was happening.

"tu quis es, puer? non terrent me. non potest facere aliquod damnum ad me, quia ego sum unus ex satanae, optimi bellatores. et tu ramusculus" the demon said in a low raspy voice.

(who are you little boy? you do not scare me. you can not do any damage to me, for i am one of satans best warriors. and you are a twig)

He chuckled a bit, looking at the young boy in front of him. The teen stood up taller and made an unpleased face. "nomen meum est tacitus. ego occidi daemones multo deterius, quam tu. leave nunc vel ego occidam te, sicut ego aliis."

(my name is tyler. i have killed demons far worse than you. leave now or i will kill you like i have others. )

The demon scoffed. He was ready to snap the boy in half because he was tired of his nonsense. The boy used his inner energy and focused on what he wanted to happen. He jerked his head and moved his one of his arms closer to his chest. He moved his hand in a circular motion while extending his middle finger. The other looked like he was holding an imaginary bowl while the hand doing the circular motion was touching it's rim. His head stopped twitching and looked up at the clouded sky with his eyes closed. The hand rimming the imaginary bowl stopped moving. He extended the middle finger inside, making it look like he dipped his finger info the fake bowl and turned it to the demon. He flicked the air and soon the demon was blackening. He was gasping for air and was looking around frantically. He was slowly being sucked into a portal. While going away he yelled out,

"tu es magus. pythonissam! quomodo audes! attende verba mea, ego te occidere! vos erant ' iens ad infernum pro hoc fructu. protinus te videre malum puerum." The demon grumbled and laughed.

(you're a wizard. a witch! how dare you! mark my words, i will kill you! you're going to hell for this anyways. see you soon evil boy)

It made the teens stomach turn. Once he knew the demon was gone, he turned his head to where he saw Josh run off too. He saw the well and Josh hiding behind it. He was noticeably crying and shaking. The taller teen walks to the scared smaller one saying "I'm not going to hurt you, my name's Tyler and-"

"G-Get a-awuh-awuh-away f-fr-from m-m-me-me-e" Josh sobbed out and scooting away from Tyler. "Y-Yo-You're a-a-a-a w-wiz-z-zar-d"

"I'm not gonna hurt you I promise, I'm a good wizard. I do good magic not black magic. Look" Tyler extended his hand towards Josh and a small flower erupted from his palm. Josh looked with doe eyes. He looked at Tyler and the flower. "You can touch it, go ahead" and gave a nod of reassurance.

Josh placed out his finger and touched the small flowers petal. Tyler chuckled lightly saying "Sorry, it tickles" Josh just blushed a light peach color on the apple of his cheeks to the tips of his ears. Tyler then picked the small flower off of his hand, a small bead of blood coming from the spot the stem once was seconds before. He put it behind Joshua's flushed ear and said "Perfect."

They heard Joshua's mother calling for him. Joshua's eyes widened. "Momma said I'm not supposed to talk to people like you! I'm gonna get in trouble. Oh no Tyler please, I-" Tyler interrupted by saying "I dont care what momma says. She's probably one of the people who want to burn all of the witches, hmm? Its okay my flower, I'll see you again soon." And in a blink of an eye, he was gone.
