a volleyball game.
i played junior varsity
for no better reason
than the fact that i am a good person.
i played junior varsity,
and as i watched my team,
my real team,
the people who respect me
love me
genuinely care about me
constantly huddle up without me
sweat, shake, and cry
without me.
i couldn't help but feel hurt that
i played junior varsity.it wasn't my choice.
we played in spruce creek.
an hour and half away.
and i got carsick
both ways.
i got home,
starving and sick,
but i have so much...a photography project
a bible test
an algebra ii test
a history project
a solo in blue rondo a la turk to perfect.the festival is the fifth and sixth.
the fifth, after school for all other classes
but the sixth, at seven forty five am.
we will be preforming.
solos, duets, choruses, bridges,
songs you probably would never recognize.
god, i wish you could though.
i wish you could hear the name
and hum the hardest part.
i wish you could hear the title and groan,
"it's too fast!"
"it's too slow..."
"i just... don't like it."
anything. just know them. . .allegretto
easy winners
blue rondo a la turk
long distance runaround
tio maccacomaybe one day you'll hear them
in person at least.for now, i have to wonder
how i could share with you
just, any way
to get these to you.like crossing a river, in a drop of water
oh my love
my body aches
my mind is barely awake
i wish i could say more
but as the clock strikes one,
my voiceis gone.
