Shouto Todoroki x Reader: cold weather and a big surprise

First I should probably apologize for taking so damn long to update this book. I've just had a lot on my plate and I know that's not really a good excuse for taking two months to update but yeah... I'm so so so so sorry guys!

It had been a very busy year or so of hero work. Since you graduated, it'd been basically non-stop work and, honestly, you needed a break. So you and your boyfriend have decided to take a short vacation. A small cabin in the woods. The only thing was, it was the middle of winter. And probably one of the worst winters in a long time.

"Shoutooo! I'm booored!" You complained. You'd been stuck in the cabin for the last two days because there was over a metre of snow blocking your door. You were laying in the middle of the lounge area, staring at the ceiling and your boyfriend was sat on the couch a few feet away from you. Todoroki just sighed.

"Sorry, but I can't really help with that. Get a book or something. It's going to be a while before we can go outside." He said and you sighed, sitting up. It was quite cold in the cabin, despite the fire being lit. You put another piece of wood on to see it it would make a difference, but it didn't.

"Shoutoooo I'm coooold." You complained again. Todoroki looked at you and smiled a little before patting the area of the couch beside him. You crawled from your spot beside the fire over to your boyfriend and sat to his left. He placed a hand on your head and you gently rested it against his shoulder. You shuffled a little closer until you were comfortably snuggled up to him. His left side was warm. It felt like you were leaning on a giant hot water bottle.

"Is that any better?" He asked and you nodded your head.

"Yeah, I'm nice and toastie now. Thank yoou." You said with a bright smile. He started to stroke your hair and you closed your eyes, relaxing. It had been a while since it had been this calm and quiet. No villains, no fighting, no paparazzi following you around wherever you go. It was nice. You were finally able to just enjoy each other's company.

"Hey, Shouto. Guess what?" You asked, and he looked at you as if telling you to continue. "I love yoou!" You said, turning your head to look at him with a smile. He chuckled a bit and kissed your forehead.

"I love you too, [Y/N]. And actually, you just reminded me of something. I have something to ask you." He said before standing up, then kneeling at your feet. He rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a small black box.

"You've been with me for a number of years now. You've supported me through everything and probably saved my life on a number of occasions. I love you with all my heart and was wondering if you'd stay by my side for the rest of my life." He said, opening the box, revealing a beautiful diamond ring. Your eyed widened and you gasped, just staring for a moment before a tear rolled down your cheek.

"Yes yes yes yes YES! Of COURSE I will!" You said, hugging him tightly and smiling brightly. He smiled, placing the ring on your finger before hugging you back.

Who would have thought this cold day would turn out yo be so amazing.
