chapter five

I woke up this morning to the sound of Ren's loud laughter. It was 6:30 in the morning. Out of all days, why today?

"Can you shut up?" I nearly shouted at him when I got downstairs. I also saw Takashi and Tanaka sensei. Of course it was Takashi who answered the door.

"Good morning Ryou chan!" Ren smiled brightly.

"Oh, you're the one I walked into in the hallway. You really are Ren's sister!" Tanaka sensei said, surprised. "Sorry I had an astonished look, I was surprised. That's all."

"It's alright." I rubbed my eyes. "Why are you all even here? It's almost 7 in the morning."

"Have you forgotten, younger sister? You're leaving for the training camp today." Ren said. I did forget. "Good thing we came here, we leave in two hours. You know the meeting spot right?"

"Yeah." I nodded. The two got up.

"Great, we'll be leaving." Tanaka sensei said. "It was nice meeting you again Kazehaya chan."

"You guys aren't going to stay and wait for us?" I asked.

"Nope, you're on your own. Also, go get Mabuchi kun since he's so close." My brother said. "Don't be late!"

Was that really all they came for? What the hell?

"Mabuchi kun!" I called from outside his door, clutching on to my dufflebag. He wasn't answering my calls. If we're late, we'll have a lot of explaining to do. Could he still be sleeping? He better not be. Even I need a little more sleep. I had been up the night before doing who knows what. I'm sleep deprived. "Kou-"

"You'll wake up the neighbors." Mabuchi kun stood at his door with a towel on his head and wearing nothing but a pair of sweatpants.

"Finally you answer! We'll miss our train if you don't hurry!" I scolded. I didn't care that he was half naked. I have four brothers, and one of them are on the swim team. I've gotten used to it.

"I just finished taking a shower. Come in, I'm almost ready." He welcomed me in. I thanked him. "My brother told me you'd be coming over, and I heard you calling the first time. I just wanted to see how long you would go."

"Wow. Brat." I stuck my tongue at him. I followed him inside the house and sat my bag next to the door so I wouldn't forget. He sat me in the kitchen.

"Just wait here." Mabuchi kun said. "Make yourself at home."

"Do you have anything to drink?" I asked as he began to leave to his room.

"I put some waterbottles and energy drinks in the fridge. Take one and put another in your bag in case. I'm sure you already ate, but we have some bread in the cabinet in you get hungry." He pointed. "I'll be down in a few minutes."

"Alright." I answered as he went back to his room.

I got up and went to the fridge and took out a water bottle. I took a drink of it and placed the rest of it in my bag along with another. The chill of the water felt nice going down my throat. I sat back down at the table and went on my phone. Luckily we'll be able to catch our train.

I had gotten a few messages from my brothers and Kominato. Daichi told me to have lots of fun, Takashi told me to not get lost, and Haru said to watch out for poisonous bugs. I know he's kidding. It's weird getting messages from Kominato sometimes. His are mainly about Murao san and other stuff.. But mostly Murao san. His message now told me where I was sitting. I was sitting with Mabuchi kun in the row next to Makita chan's and Yoshioka san's and behind Kominato and Murao san's. I could tell Kominato manipulated the seating. Those two can never be seperated.
