Victoria POV:

"Wow, this is beautiful." David said astonishingly. "Thank you...Emily!" I yelled. My living room was gorgeous I remember when my mom helped me decorate and renovate it into a beautiful family centered room. I wanted everything to be low for Emily, yet decorative. Keisha should've had her up by now. Out of the corner of the stairs, I saw a curly ponytail pop from behind Keisha. "Keisha, meet David." I introduced. She walked up to him and hugged him. "Hey how are you?" she asked him. "I'm good." he said, smiling his ridiculously gorgeous smile of his.

She leaned in my ear. "He is so sweet, and he's gorgeous, you better keep him." she whispered. I laughed. "You're funny...Emily come meet Mr. Jackson." I told her. Emily came out from behind Keisha bashfully and shook his his hand. "Hey, Mr. Jackson." she said in her babyish voice. He knelt down. "So, you must be the famous Emily I've been hearing about, how old are you dear?" he asked her sweetly. She covered her mouth and held up three fingers. "Four." she whispered. "Baby, four is with four fingers not three." I explained to her. I remember when we went over it thousands of times, I guess it'll just be something she learns on her own.

"Yes mam." she said. "Aww! well isn't she adorable." he commented, pinching her cheek. He stood up "Can I use your bathroom?" he asked. "Isn't that a rhetorical question, yeah it's down the hall to the right." I explained to him. "Thank you." he replied and walked out of the living room. "Well, well, well," Keisha said, walking towards me, "So, that's the reason you haven't been answering your phone or text messages lately." she whispered. "Keisha...umm, I'd love to carry this conversation without another listener." I said, looking towards Emily who was standing there sucking everything in. "Oh, Emily, give mommy and Ms. Keisha some time to talk alone, I think Barney & Friends are on." she said. Emily loved Barney, that's why I hired an interior designer to paint and decorate her room pink and purple. "Yay!" she yelled, running towards the flat screen t.v. that was planted on the wall.

We walked outside to my orange and red patio across from the living room, and I left the door ajar to listen for Emily and David. We sat down across from each other. "So...are you two like, together?" she asked excitedly. I rolled my eyes. She had on an orange dress with a thin city coat along with it. "Calm down Keisha, we're just friends." I told her. "Yeah whatever, I know you , and you don't let no one get your focus off God, your work, your family, or your girls!" she yelled excitedly. "I haven't taken my focus off of God, nor my work, or my family, and definitely not my girls!" I told her, taking offense to it. She rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, Victoria I know, you may fool yourself, but you do not fool me, and what happened with your mom, Vicky you used to call her everyday, when was the last time you called?" she quizzed me. I was in shock.  I haven't been myself lately, I usually took care of Emily and didn't need Keisha to babysit, and I usually am working on my next story to edit...wow, well at least I didn't forget God, then it would be a definite prob. I haven't been calling my mom, I'm sure she's worried and very curious of what could be holding my time from talking to her. "The last time I called my mom was....wow, I haven't called her in two weeks." I said. My friend sat back in the chair, flipping her hair as if she made her point.

"Hear me when I say it, that man got you out of your element honey, and you need to decide whether you like it or not." she said, shaking her head, smiling.  I laughed. "Really? we're just friends, what's the deal with a male being a friend with a female...you people always think it'll eventually evolve to something more." I argued. "Yeah, if he's homosexual...then it can be a friendship, but honey don't kid yourself you 'know' he isn't swinging that way, and also how do you know he's just interested in being your friend, God created man and woman to be together, not be besties and that's it...I mean, how else is life going to continue going." she counter-argued.  I gave up. "Okay, you made your point clear Keisha, but we're honestly just friends, I don't even look at him that..." I trailed off.

"Exactly, you are attracted to him." she said, putting me on the spot. I sighed pulling my black and white dress down Untitled. "So, maybe I think he's cute, so." I said. She shook her head. "Face it...you are...falling for him sweetie." she said, sipping her soda. I was upset with her telling me this and about how I felt and how I was. "No, I'm not Keisha, honestly I would love if you minded your own business, I'm a grown woman and don't appreciate you telling me how I feel or what I'm doing, get you some business please." I told her. I got up and walked into the house. As I walked into the living room, I saw David and Emily playing a video game. "I'm gonna get you!" Emily yelled, pushing him. He smiled at her, sticking his tongue out at her childishly.

'God why does my feelings have to be so strong, I always settle for guys who aren't into you...I need someone with the same vision and beliefs as me.' I talk to God regularly as you would probably talk to your mom or dad daily. It cleared my mind and always brought unspeakable peace to me inside. His answers are always right, although they're not always what my itching ears want to hear. "You beat me lad, you're too good at this." he boomed to her. She laughed at the tone of his voice. He'd be a perfect father. "Vicky!" Keisha yelled to me. I sighed and turned around, then exited outside onto the patio. She sat down.

"Listen, girl, I'm very sorry for what I said earlier, I just want you to not beat around the bush and face your feelings, but I know you are a grown woman and can do what you want, girl I just want you to be happy." she said sincerely, touching my shoulder. I smiled. "I'm sorry too for blowing up on you, I should've just known you were just trying to help me." I said. She nodded. "I am, because before him, you were sad and upset all the time...I didn't want to be around you when you got mad, which was like everyday, since you've met him you've been smiling more, singing, you know haven't sung in like forever, he's been doing something right for you to act like that Ms. Wilkerson, I just want you to recognize how he makes you feel, and to hold on to that, before he's off the market list, and some other blonde headed girl snatch him up...you better get him." she teased.

We laughed. "Whatever girl, but I'm glad you watching out for me." I told her solemnly. We hugged and returned back inside. "You're going to let him meet mommy?" she asked me, nudging my arm. "Why would I?" I asked her. "Because, you know your mama is going to want to know where you've been, who've been taking all your attention, and you know she wants to know about any man in your life." she said. I shrugged. "True, I guess I'll take him to see my crazy family." I said, rolling my eyes at the thought. "Well, I need to go see her, do you mind watching Emily till I get back?" I asked her.

"Sure, you know I don't mind, tell her I said hi." she said. "Okay." I said as I walked back into the living room. "David, we're about go, Emily say goodbye." I told them, brushing my hair. She bear-hugged him. "Bye Mr. David." she said. His face was turning red as a ripe tomato. "Bye sweetheart." he managed to say. She released him. "Bye mama." she said. I waved at her as I exited the front door. "See you later." I replied. We walked out to the car and got in. "Your little girl is so energetic." he said. I laughed. "Tell me about it I live with her." I said, pulling on my seat-belt. "I enjoyed playing with her though." he said, combing through his tousled blonde hair. "You'd be a great father." I said earnestly.

He smiled. "Really?" he asked, not sounding convinced in his voice. I nodded as I drove through the woods. He smiled. "Yeah, well I'm not ready for kids right now...I- I need to get my self together first, you know what I mean?" he asked. I nodded. "Yeah." I said. "Where are we going?" he asked, realizing I passed his apartment. "It's a surprise." I told him. His eyes widened. "Oh, another one of those huh?" he asked. "Yep." I said amused.
