Chapter 9. Trail to Victory

(I know the title is cheesy)

Felix's POV

I wake up to me still having a stuffy nose from crying yesterday, I get up and head down to my kitchen to make some toast. I wonder if Brandon will enter the tournament, well no duh he's on a four streak. I look at my group chat with my teammates and I see Slate saying that we're entering the Tournament, as I finished my breakfast then getting dressed I walk down to Inkopoils Plaza instead of taking the train or waiting for it.

I walk into Inkopoils to see a little stand that had a female inkling with the Tournament sign up sheets, I look to see the others at Deco Tower. I walked to them to see Slate in line to sign up.
  "I hope we win! We've been on a winning streak that passed week!" Rosalina exclaimed giving me a big huge.
   "Me too! I wanna see Brandon's face as I  win my first tournament." I smirked looking back at him.
  "Seems like you two are head-strong rivals." Lucas laughed underneath his mask we wore.
    "I got us signed in! But Felix we kinda changed are Team name instead of Team Cyan." Slate said taking his shades off and cleaning them.
  "What is it then?" I asked as he looks up putting the shades back on his face.
   "Are Team name is, Team InkBurst!" Rosalina said while she still hugging me.
"Wow, sounds cool!" I said trying to get Rosalina off of me.
"The Tournament will start tomorrow at 10:30 a.m!" The female inkling said as all the inkling shouted.
   "I guess will see what Team we V.S tomorrow." Slate shrugged.
  "I guess so." I said starring at Team Pink.
"I have a pretty cool idea!" Lucas said while he had is hand over his chin.
    "What is it?" Slate asked him.
"Why don't we upgrade are weapons before the Tournament starts tomorrow? Then we can have new specials and sub-weapons." Lucas said as Sheldon has new weapons.
    "That's not bad!" I clapped my hands together at the brilliant idea.

We entered into Sheldon's shop and found new weapons, I saw one that looked just like mine but was painted a different color and had a bunch more stickers than mine.
  "Oh! Oh! Felix look at this one!" She said holding it in her hands.
     "What's it called?" I asked her.
  "It's called the 'N-Zap '83'!! It's special is Ink storm and the sub is sprinkler!" She said jumping up and down excitedly.
  "Check out these new dualies! Their called the 'Clear Dapple dualies', the special is Splashdown and sub is torpedo." Lucas said holding them in his two hands.
    "This Squiffer looks so fresh!! It's even called 'Fresh Squiffer', you got InkJet and Suction bomb as your sub." Slate said as he paid for it. I looked at that one Heavy Splatling and start to hold it, it seemed way better than my original and more fresh.
   "This one is called 'Heavy Splatling Remix', Huh!! T-The special is Booyah bomb, and point sensor!!!" I squealed hugging it. I grabbed my coins out and paid for it.
   "Looks like we're settled." Slate said as we pointed to the training room.
"Yeah we should test them out." Lucas said entering in.
   "Great idea!" Rosalina grabbed my hand and we went to training.

~40 minutes later~
  "That was great!!" Rosalina said holding her new N-Zap.
     "Why don't we get something to eat?" Slate asked us all.
  "Sure! I'm down for Crusty Sean!" I exclaimed holding the splatling remix. We walked down to order as I got a Deep-Fried Shwaffle and the rest of them got Super Seanwich.
   "This is so good!!" Rosalina said taking another bite from her Seanwich.
   "You've never had Crusty Sean's!?" I exclaimed with shock.
  "Nope, don't you remember it's my first time in Inkopoils Square." Rosalina said with a blank face.
    "I guess I forgot." I rubbed my head in embarrassment.
  "Well I can't wait for tomorrow, are first tournament match." Lucas replied looking at his Clear Dapple dualies.
   "We're all excited, this is a chance for us to be popular or really good at battling." Slate said.
    "I should head home." I said throwing away the wrapper that came with my Fried Shwaffle, the sun was setting in the distance and I grabbed my splatling remix and headed out. I waved my goodbyes to them and walked down to my apartment.

~The Next Day~
I start to rub my eyes as the sunlight is beaming at my face, I check the time and see it's 9:42 A.M. OH SHIT IM GOING TO BE LATE!! I quickly put a piece of bread in the toaster and grab my cloths to get dressed as I brush my teeth trying to put my shoe on, I looked back at the time and it was 9:49 A.M. I locked my apartment door with my Ink tank on my back and my phone in my pocket then my Remix right next to my feet. I ran as fast as I could but the splatling was holding me back a little bit, I made it at a Inkopoils Square at 9:58 A.M. I saw Rosalina waving to me and she had a bottle of Ink water (Ink water doesn't kill them as I put Ink in their, basically it's their color ink but they can drink it IDK)
  "I wonder who were going to right?" Slate said as the 1 minute was remaining, all the teams gathered around as they saw the female inkling standing right beside the board.

Everyone started to howler and scream as the Tournament was starting.
  "You all are very excited for this Tournament! And now here is the Team set up!" The dark green inkling girl pointed to the screen. Team Pink was at the right edge and we were on the left edge.
   "Are first competitors are Team InkBurst and Team SplatPop!" She said.
   "Wow were up first." Rosalina was so excited. We walked up on the stage as Team SplatPop came from the right, I heard a bit of whispers.
  "That's the girl who is really good at with the Heavy Splatling!"
  "S-She has the splatling remix!?"
"Wow! She probably is going to make it the top 5!!" I was really surprised that everybody was talking about me as I looked the map randomized and the map it chose was 'Musselforge Fitness'. The match started and everyone could see from the live footage, I start shootings in the air so it can ink Turf. Rosalina was already at the left side of the and Slate started to hide with his Squiffer. Lucas was right next to me as we saw the opposite team coming at us until me and Lucas splatted two of them as the others tried to avoid us but Rosalina splatted one and Slate splatted the other with his Squiffer.
   "Amazing!! Team SplatPop has been striked down by Team InkBurst!!" The female inkling said with her microphone. Later as they spawned again they tried to take the middle part but failed as we splatted them again but two were missing, my special started to glow and they were right behind me and I smirked at them. The rest of my team starred at me with amazing looks and...
  "DO IT!!!" They all shouted and I used my special and I had a ink armor around me with my eyes flashing with a litter color of Cyan and we all shouted.
   "BOOYAH~!!!!!" It lasted for a minute and my Booyah bomb was all charged up and I threw it at the two others with 10 seconds on the clock. Everyone was amazed and her yowling and cheering us on, I splatted the two landing on my feet as the Booyah bomb wore off. Judd and lil' Judd were calculating the results and we won.
   "Congratulations to Team InkBurst!!! They were amazing on the field so was Team SplatPop!" The female said as we stepped on the stage. Are little dot moved up as Team SplatPop stayed down.
  "We won are first tournament match!" I muttered to myself.
