Chapter 13

People need people

Have you ever felt like your entire world can be pushed and moulded into one person? It is like when that one person is with you, you don't need family, you don't need friends, you can call that person everything. Call him family, call him friend or more than friend. There is no label required. Hero is that one person for me. He is my friend because I can tell him about anything and everything without a single hesitance of judgement. I can also choose not to tell him if I don't want to and he doesn't even push me. And that is the beauty I find in our relationship. We can choose to be ourselves and don't imply any kind of expectation or standard on each other. I know it sounds early but I cannot help falling for him. And it is not a crush or fan love for me anymore. I will not tell him now because I don't want to rush him. He shouldn't be afraid to say no with the fear of loosing me. I will give him his time, my time and be there for him in every way possible and in whichever way he wants.
"You are this beautiful girl, do amazing cinematography and sing so sweet. Now I have to check your dancing skills?" He teased me as we left Swen's place.
"No. No need of that" I said pasting my tongue out. We hired a cab to my place. "So how are you feeling now?" He asked keeping his hand behind my headrest. "What do you expect?"I asked him grinning. "I hope my charm worked" he winked at me. "Charm huh? Who said you are charming?" I asked dramatically. "You" he said before pecking my lips. "And understanding and alluring and caring" I said kissing him back. We reached my house. I got off followed by Hero. "So the day comes to an end and now I will see you tomorrow" he said with a sad face. This man cannot get any cuter. Can he? "You know you can come over and stay here" I said. "Are you sure about that? I mean what about your other friend? We don't want to piss off two people in a single day" he asked nervously. "Oh no. Not at all. Anna is different and she won't mind" I said being all too confident on Anna. She will be cool about it. Right?
"Ok then" he said turning to pay the driver. I turned the door open as he walked in past me. I placed my keys on the nearby holder and walked upstairs. I walked past Anna's room and her light snores were audible. I opened my room and turned on the lights. Thankfully I manage to keep it neat and tidy even after busy work days. Hero assessed the same looking everywhere in.
I took off my shoes and looked at him. "What are you looking at?" I asked curiously. "It is too clean" he said taking off his shoes and placing them next to mine. "Do you want another Tshirt?" I asked as he gave me a confused look. "I sleep in loose boy's T-shirts. I don't have anything in lower wear though" I said moving towards my closet. "Ohk. No need of that. I sleep shirtless" he smirked at my reflection on the mirror. "Ohh Ohk" I said running towards washroom to hide my red face. When I came back he was lying on my bed against the headboard, reading the back of the book. Does Anna Todd knows he has not read 'After' ? I jumped on the other side of the bed and pushed myself up against the headboard so that we are on the same level. "What do you do on other days?" He asked still looking at the book. "These days I work a bit on the editing and then read this" I said looking at him. "What do you do?" I asked. "I do my laundry at Jemmy's place or play fortnight with her children" he said keeping down the book. "How sweet!!" I teased him. "I miss my friends a lot." He said looking ahead as if thinking about something. "Understandable" I muttered. I don't know what to say because I have never lived away from my group. Wherever we have gone, we have been together. Anna, Fatty and Mill would follow me even to the moon. "I am sorry" Hero said reading my face. "You don't have to be. It's not your fault." I said placing my head on his shoulder and running my fingers on his hand. "You are the only one next to my home" he said before drifting off to sleep.

I wake up squinting to the beam of sunlight. I try to get up when I realise a hand wrapped around my waist and Hero pinned to my back, his right leg on my right leg and his breath tickling my shoulder blades. I never slept like this with my doll the way he is sleeping holding me. I don't want to move away because that will wake him up. So I slowly turn towards him. Once I do that I can't take my eyes off him. How can someone look so simple but beautiful at the same time. Yes Hero is beautiful. A beautiful person with a beautiful soul. "Will you stop staring at me like that. It is distracting" he murmured groggily. I instantly closed my eyes shut. After a few seconds I peek through one eye, opening to the slightest finding Hero fully awake and looking at me. "I caught you already" he said nuzzling his nose along mine. "Good morning" I said kissing his nose. "Good morning" he said kissing my lips. "Now if you allow me, may I?" I asked him pointing his legs which was draped around my thigh. "On one condition" he said keeping his head on my pillow. "What is that?" I asked amused. "You will come back directly to me after the shoot ends today" he said pinching my cheek. "Ok and why may I.." "No further question. Now go and get ready. I will meet you at the set" he cuts me off and gets up to wear his Tshirt. "I will walk you downstairs" I said unlocking my door. When we reach down, Anna looks up to me and her eyes pop out of the sockets following my back. "Good morning" Hero smiled at her. But she looked at him as if she has seen a ghost. "Good morning Anna" I cleared my throat to snap her back to reality. "Uh huh yeah morning" she said. "How are you doing?" Hero asked after calling his driver. "Uhhmm Good" she said, actually whispered back. I went to the kitchen to get my coffee and made another cup for Hero. "Here is your coffee" I said placing it infront of him. I looked over at Anna who was busy reading the newspaper, well upside-down. After a couple of minutes Hero stood up "my driver is here. See you in an hour" he said leaving after giving a peck on my cheek. "Yup" I said as he sat in the car and took off. I turned back to find Anna standing on my face with wide eyes"What was that????"
