The heart wants what it wants

Hero's POV

"Do you have any idea where she is?" I asked Fatima, while packing my bags. "No Hero. I have no idea where this girl has gone. She did not reply to my text but she did read it" she said. "Why isn't she responding?" I asked her. This is a very Non Nirvana thing that she is not even contacting her friends. "I don't know man. What did you do to her?" she sighed. "I am sorry. I really am" I said sitting on the edge of the bed. "As much as I hate, what you did to her. I am positive that you do like her" she said and I could feel the comfort in her voice. "I don't like her......I love her" I said. The words feel alien from my mouth but the way Fatima squealed from the other end made me smile. The feeling I get, finally after voicing my feelings and letting them out, is amazing. "Does she know? Did you tell her? OMG !!! Did you? Offcourse not... You dumbass" Fatima rambles. "I want to tell her but I don't know wi" I begun but Fatima cuts me off "Ohhhh !!! Will you just shut up? C'mon man... Don't be such douchebag. Be positive okay? I will do whatever I can to make my ship sail again" she chirps. "Ship?" I ask confused. "Yes !!! My ship Nero" she clapped. "What is Nero?" I asked. I am yet to get updated with this millenial era. "Fuck !!!! Hero. It's Nirvana plus Hero. Neeeeero" she squeals again. "Whatever" I roll my eyes, something I learned from Nirvana. "I will keep on trying until she responds. You please keep me updated with everything" I replied biting my lip to control my smile. Nero? Seriously? "Done. By the way best of luck for the tour" she said before hanging up. I take a deep breath and after giving a quick look around the room, I leave, ensuring it is just the way, she left.
"So you are going?" Anna asked when I reached downstairs. "Yeah. Thanks though, for letting me stay here" I said. "No problem. Come, take your coffee" she said as I moved towards the table. "Nirvana is not replying to my texts, leave alone calls. And not even Fatima's. Did she respond to you?" I asked hopefully. "No, she didn't" Anna said looking down. I sighed. Not that I am giving up. I am desperate. I want to see her, hear her voice, feel her touch. And her absence is eating me alive. Where is she? How is she? Is she safe? Is there some problem with her phone? These so far unanswered questions are killing me. I don't know how I will be able to keep my mind, heart, soul and myself together in these twenty days. "Don't worry Hero. You have more things to focus on, right now" Anna said, giving me a side hug. I give her a small smile before, getting up and putting my bags in the car. "Let me know about anything, you hear" I said and bid her goodbye.

Nirvana's POV

Today Hero will start with the promotional tour for After. I have no hard feelings for his work there. He worked really hard, everyone did, including me. Editing after editing, rounds of retakes from different angles, compiling and recompiling scenes, everybody gave their blood and sweat to it. I have seen Hero revising dialogues till late night. He did not read the book, but he knows Hardin, in and out. Whatever our differences are, I pray to God that people like him and acknowledge his work because in this industry, your first impression has to be your best impression or else it can be your last. I walk to the templeside, in the house. They have bigger temple here than mine and it is beautiful. Mine, is a bit conjusted because of lack of space. I light an incense stick in the corner and ring the bell after praying. "Ruhi, where is maasi?" I ask her when she comes back from the shed. "Maa has gone for some work and I am leaving for work too" she said picking her bag. "Can I come with you ....if you don't mind?" I asked because I don't think I have anything better to do here. "Sure. Let's go" she said and we leave together. Ruhi is a teacher in the local school, the school where we studied. Now it has become bigger and better, I hope. "Remember when you use to throw tantrums to walk here everyday?" I asked her and she laughed. "I do. And you use to tell me that this will make me active. You were not wrong though" she said as we entered the classroom. "I won't be a disturbance, I will just take a look around" I said. I walked on the corridor, peeping through the classrooms. The school has definitely become better. The construction has improved and there is a play ground surrounding it. I was not that lucky then. I reach in my pocket for my phone to take pictures but then realise, I left it at home. Very good!!
I talk to children randomly moving in the corridor. I spend half of the school hours, sitting on the swing set. Then finally when Ruhi is done for the day, we meet the current principal, I don't know why and walk back home. When we get back, my aunt stands in a corner with a gloomy face. "Kya hua maasi?" I asked her.
(Translation- What happened?) "Sorry beta. Mujhse galti se...." she shows her hand.(Translation- Sorry dear, I did this by mistake....)
My MacBook, my broken MacBook actually. The screen is cracked badly and it is more than damaged. "Mein tumhara room saaf kar rahi thi aur yeh galti se meirey hath se gir gaya" she said and her voice cracked towards the end.
(Translation- I was cleaning your room, and I accidentally dropped this from my hand)
"Phir yeh ganda ho gaya toh meiney issey paani se saaf kar diya, lekin yeh phir bhi....." I should be angry on her but her cluelessness towards laptop makes me laugh.
(Translation- Then it got dirty so I rinsed it with water but still.....)
Cleaning a laptop with soapy water. Wow.
"Koi baat nahi maasi, mein dusra khareed lungi" I said smiling on her cuteness. I don't have any official work to do, so I can buy another laptop in sometime.
(Translation- It is ok. I will buy a new one. Don't worry)
"Maa... aap bhi na.... electronic items ko kapdo ki tarah saaf nahi karte paani se" Ruhi huffed making me laugh. This is hilarious.
(Translation- Mother. You don't clean electronic items with water like you do with clothes)
