"Coward! Punk! Useless brat! I bet your parents tossed you out for a reason!"
The words ran thought the dark alleyway, echoing off the cold stone walls.
I frowned. Bullies. I got enough of them now-adays.
It was a cold October Friday nigh and I was taking a walk through the streets when the commotion had stopped me.
I began to look for the source of the noise.
In the dim light that the moon cast, I could see some writhing shadows around the corner.
With a practiced movement, I waved my hands over my attire, making my clothes into a dark, icy suit, with a flowing, dark cloak. I spun my hand into a circle making a mask to cover my face and then crept over to the alleyway.
Three men were beating up on a little girl who looked about 6 years old. She had blond hair about shoulder length and a blue and white dress one her petite body.
She was curled up in a ball as the men kicked her and taunted her, tear tracks cutting through her pale, dirty face.
I whistled sharply, causing the men to look around. I smirked, and stepped out of the shadows. The men paled visibly.
"Know me?" I said, slowly advancing on the men.
"It..its...its....its the I.S.Q! One of the men screeched. They backed off, trembling in fear. I kept advancing.
"Why were you beating up this girl?" I said, staring at the men with a cold expresion.
"She...she was....."
"Yes....? She was...?" I asked.
The girl gave a whimper, looking at me. I smiled reassuringly at her then shot an icy glare at the men. I twirled my finger for effect, and a ice dagger shimmered into existence in my hand.
I looked at it, smiling slightly. The men began to shake in earnest.
"My dagger would love to bite you..." I smirked, looking at the men.
If it was even possible, they shook even more.
"I will give you ten..nine...eight..seven...."
Then men were all ready gone. I grinned, then ran over to the little girl, who sniffles and looked at me with her tear stained face.
"Are you the I.S.Q.?"
Her question caught me unawares.
"Yes, I am." I grinned at her, taking off my mask and making my suit and cloak fade away. She gasped.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you" I smiled at her. "What's your name?"
"My name is Alice. My mom is....thequeenifhearts." She said, really fast.
"I'm sorry.. I could quite catch that?" I said. "Can you repeat your self please?"
"My name is Alice Heart and my mom is the Queen if Hearts. I ran away. She did bad things." Alice stated.
"What kind of bad things?" I said, wanting to know what this little girl had to go through.
"She is the Queen of Hearts, she steals hearts and keeps a collection of them in her room." Alice looked down. "She liked to hear the people scream as she ripped them out. She wanted my heart so I ran away."
I gaped at her. At such a young age and having to witness that...
"Do you want to live with us?" I said kindly.
"Yes!!!!!" Alice grinned the cutest grin ever and game me a big hug. I laughed and brought her to the HO, watching her amazement heighten. I then brought her to our children's room with all the toys we had collected and found and made.
