"You guys, you really didn't have to." I smile putting my stuff into the car. "Of course we had to take you out for breakfast. I mean after what happened last night, I think you might need a break. But Becca, where are you going to stay? I mean you can't stay with any of us, so who are you going to stay with?"

I wipe away a slight tear from the pain I'm feeling in my arms and my back. "Where ever my feet take me, I guess." I chuckle. "I mean after all I did for my dad. Take care of him when he had no one, he kicks me out of our house. You know, my dad is just a selfish ass, drinking bastard." They smile. "You tell him off!"

We reach the school and I honestly do not feel like dealing with anyone's bullshit today. Especially Tyler's. I walk into the school with my friends and walk up to my locker to put my  non-needed textbooks in at the moment along with other unnecessary things. I get a instant tap on my shoulder from behind.

"Wha-Tyler!" I cross my arms. "Sorry I didn't mean to-" "Startle me? Yeah, you did." I think of the pain of him touching my shoulder being one of the places my dad mainly hit me. "I just wanted to ask since I have no partner for the project we're doing in homeroom, maybe I can join you and your table mate? I won't ask of anything else, just please Becca. Just this once." To be honest, his voice sounded kind of soothing, and calm, just like it was when we dated.

"Ask Mr. Perkinson, I guess. But as long as Jesse is okay with it." I smile a little bit. He reflects. "I should get going and find Zach," I said pointing a different direction. "Oh, okay." he sighs. "Becca," he asks. "Hm?" he breathes in. "Have you dated someone since we broke up?" I stare at him for a second in his eyes. "No, actually. Why do you ask?" He scratches his head. "I actually wanted to know if you wanted to-" the bell rings. "I have to go, Tyler. Maybe tell me in homeroom?" He sighs. "Yeah, sure Becky."

Before I got to class, I run into the girls bathroom. Freshman's are snogging each other and I move pass them. I go into a stall with a mirror and take my hoodie off and look at some of the bruises and scratches on my body.

They're everywhere on my body. Someone is knocking on the stall so I quickly throw my hoodie back on and grab my backpack and walk out of the stall. I quickly walk up to homeroom. I think of the words Tyler was saying. 'I actually wanted to know if you wanted to-' . What was he going to say? I walk in and I take my seat next to where Jesse would be sitting. I'm hoping that Jesse is here because so far as it looks right now, Tyler and I are the only ones without partners. A few minutes later, there is still no sign of Jesse. "Is Jesse here today? I don't seem to see him, Miss Walker." I sigh. "Yeah, I don't think he's here today."

Mr. Perkinson smiles. "Well then, that's perfect. Today's assignment  is you and your table mate, in this case for you Miss Walker since Mr. Heroe isn't here you'll be working with new transfer to the class Mr. Joseph. If that's fine with you Tyler?" Mr. Perkinson asks.

"Oh, yeah, it's fine I guess." "Your assignment is to construct a poster for the class on the different types of wars the US fought in. The project is due by tomorrow. The poster must include basic information about the war, color, and it must be neat. I suggest meeting up with your partner after school today to finish it because will not be able to find all of the research and make your poster presentable by the end of class. You and your partner will also write an essay about the war separate. If they are any kind of alike it will affect not only your grade, but your partners grade as well. Get to work."

I pull out my laptop and start doing research on the Revolutionary War which was the war we were assigned. "So, do you want to meet up at your house?" Tyler asked. "NO. I mean yeah, no I can't do my house. How about your house or Eddie's Diner?" I sigh. "Yeah, okay I can do the diner. Do you just want to walk there after school? Or do you still have tremendous hours at that record shop?" I pull my phone out under the table and look at my calendar for my work hours. "Thankfully, I'm not working today. So yes, I guess we can walk to the diner after school." He scratches his head. "Actually, Bec, I have football after school. Is there any way you can pick up some materials from the craft store and start on it? Zach won't like me skipping out on practice." I roll my eyes and giggle. "I'll talk to Zach."  After a bit of research and both of us writing our essays, the bell rings to go to our next class. I put my stuff away, and head out to my next class.

After a long day of school, the final bell rings to dismiss students. I walk out of the doors to the high school. I get my phone out and call Jenny. A ring in my ear rings until I hear a voice pick up the phone from the other side. "Yeah, Becca?" I sigh. "You haven't left yet, have you?" A pause is on the other line. "No, I was just about to get into my car, why what's up?" "I'm at the front of the school by the tables. Can you pick me up, take me to the craft store and bring me to Eddie's? That would be a long walk and I think Tyler would be there waiting for me by the time I get there." "Yeah, Bec, I'm on my way. Do you want me to keep this bag in my trunk for a while  or no?"

"No, actually Jen, I'm going to take it out tomorrow. After Ty and I work on our poster for a little bit I'm going to leave and find a hotel for me to stay at." She sighs. "Are you sure you're going to be okay by yourself, Rebecca? I mean you never like to be alone-" "I'll be fine, Jen. I promise. Anyway, I see your car rolling up." I hang up and walk up to her car. So the plan was that Zach could keep Tyler for 45 minutes then he could make his way to Eddie's. By the time he gets there, I should be set up. I was thinking of getting different colored craft paper, glue, scissors, color pencils, markers, sharpies, and anything else I'd need to make it look neat and presentable.

I hop into the car and put my stuff down. "So since when do you work with Tyler? I mean yesterday you were talking to me on how awful he is." I sigh. "I mean my partner wasn't here today, and he doesn't have a partner. And I was just in a bad mood yesterday. He's not that bad is he? I mean I need to give him a chance, maybe hes changed." She shakes her head. "Bec, are you even hearing yourself right now? Don't you remember? He CHEATED on you. He broke my best friend for months. And now you're saying he might've changed?" I shake my head yes. "Maybe.." Jenny rolls her eyes. "Okay, if you say so, Becca."
