Weather the Storm
Chapter 4
Felix POV
I couldn't wait to see the look on Marzia's face! I had actually been listening for once when she was listing things we were out of. I pulled the trunk open and grabbed several grocery bags. With one hand, I unlocked the door and threw it open.
"Marziaaaaaaaaa!" I called, "I'm home!" I listened for a reply. "Marzia?" Maybe she was still recording. No, that couldn't be it. The house was absolutely silent. "Mariza? Marzia!!" No answer. I raced upstairs and popped open the door to our bedroom. She wasn't there. The bed was perfectly made, just like it had been this morning. Maybe she had gone to the mall? Yes, that was probably it. But still, it was so unlike Marzia to leave without telling me or leaving a note. Silly Pewds, I thought to myself. Of course I didn't know if she left a note. I hadn't been in the kitchen yet. I walked back down the stairs, sure she had simply forgotten or left me a message in the kitchen. I checked the counter and the table, but there was nothing there. Marzia had probably forgotten. And then I noticed it.
Her phone. Marzia never left without her phone. I turned it on and realized there was still 78% of power left...Suddenly, a notification popped up. It was a text message from Kayla, one of Marzia's friends. As I opened it, I found that Marzia had been writing a text.
Hey Kayla
Yeah, that sounds good. I'll see you next week for
lunch then.
Marziheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllp
It almost looked like Marzia had been interrupted in the middle of writing a text. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. I raced over towards it, hoping against hope that it was Marzia.
A tall, buff man with short, military-style black hair towered over me in the doorway. He was wearing loose slack, and the sleeves of his shirt were ripped away to show off well-muscled arms. Now this was one man I didn't want to get into a fight with.
"Name's Dan. Came by to tell you that Marzia is my girl now." he said in a gruff, rasping voice.
"Um...who are you, exactly?"
Dan looked over me with a critical eye. "So this is who Sweetcakes is going out with now, huh? Well, her choices have really dropped in quality."
"I asked, who are you?"
"Hah! Seems that Sweetcakes has never told you about her real man. Hate to break this to you, kid, but she was using you just for money."
I was starting to get confused. Just who did this guy think he was? And where the hell was Marzia? I was slowly beginning to suspect that Sweetcakes was Marzia. But my sweet Marzia? Going out with this guy?
"Where's Marzia?!"
"Don't you get it, man? She's with me now."
"No! I don't believe you! Marzia would never leave me!" I yelled. Had he kidnapped Marzia? And come to make some stupid story?!
"All right, you asked for it. Here's your proof." Dan pulled out a phone from his pocket, and clicked "play" on a video.
I gasped. It was Marzia. She looked enraged. "God, I said I don't want anything to do with you! Never come near me again. I met the love of my life recently. Stop ruining it!"
"M-Marzia?" I couldn't believe it. He had told me the truth. Marzia didn't care about me after all.
"Have a nice life, kid." He laughed, and slammed the door while I stood there, dazed. I heard the 'ding' of my ex-fiancée's phone, but it was a long time before I could check it. It was Marzia's phone. It was Kayla, trying to get Marzia to reply.
I slowly lifted my finger and began to type.
Marzia doesn't live here anymore.
Do not reply.
Good bye
-Felix
I turned it off. I went upstairs and lay down on the bed. The little box with the ring still lay on her nightstand. I opened it and gazed at the engagement ring. Only then did the full force of what just happened hit me.
I couldn't say anything. I couldn't do anything.
I did the last thing there was to do.
I sat up on the bed, and wept.
A/N: Poor Felix! Yep, I'm mean like that. I'm still not sure where I'm going with this. Eh, we'll figure it out. Hope you enjoyed!
As always, heart, favourite, review, and follow!!!
Brofist!
