Weather the Storm
Chapter 6
Felix POV
I woke up in a dark and dingy room, with a single, white lightbulb hanging from the middle. My arms felt sore and tired, and I realized that they were tied behind the chair I was sitting on. Suddenly, the door creaked open, and Dan came in.
"You shouldn't have come here. You've been very disobedient...and disobedient boys get punished. Take him to the Torture Room!" He yelled at two guards standing outside. I felt myself being roughly grabbed and shoved outside. I was thrown on the floor, but Dan grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and lifted me off the ground.
"You're my new punching bag. Be happy. It's a great honor." Suddenly, cold metal chains were wrapped around my hands and feet, stretching me out. Dan pulled back, and let fly. I felt blood spray across my face. The pain was great, but it wasn't nearly as unbearable as when I found out Marzia had left me. As Dan hit me again and again, I just prayed for it to be over quickly.
Marzia POV
Dan had thrown open the door and snatched me up. When I protested, he slapped me across the face. The next thing I knew, I was strapped in a chair with a one-way mirror in front of me. Suddenly, a young man of about 20? 25? had been dragged into the room and strung up like a punching bag, which was exactly what Dan used him for. I felt sorry for the man, and I tried to look away, but I couldn't. I figured Dan had just brought me here to bring me pain by watching someone get tortured. When the man finally passed out, Dan kept kicking him. Suddenly, the unconscious man twisted around on the chains as my ex hit him particularly hard, and I saw his face.
"FELIX!" I screamed, almost deafening my two guards. "Felix! No! He's a monster! Tell him to stop! MAKE HIM STOP!"
After about 5 more minutes, Dan finally stopped, and the chains went slack. Felix fell to the ground lifelessly. Rage surged through me. I tore apart the fragile ropes binding me to the chair, and kicked one guard in the face and punched the other, and both of them fell down, unconscious. I smashed the glass, not caring about the pieces that embedded themselves in my skin. Dan looked up in surprise, but when the guards leapt forward to stop me, he signaled them back.
"Fine. Enjoy the time you have," he grinned at me sinisterly, like he knew something I didn't. Everyone cleared out of the room, and the door was locked.
I ran the last few meters to my beloved boyfriend.
"Felix!" I cried out, dropping to my knees beside him. My minor cuts and bruises were nothing compared to what he had just endured. I dropped my head to his chest, listening for a heartbeat. Luckily, I could still hear his heart, though faintly. I gently cradled his head in my arms. His golden hair was matted with blood.
"Felix?" I gently called his name, waiting for him to wake up.
*30 minutes later*
Marzia POV
I was still bent over him, his head in my lap. Suddenly, I felt him stir. "Felix?"
"M-M-Marzia?" his voice was weak and hardly audible. His eyes opened slowly, revealing their brilliant blue color among all the blood on his face, though I had somewhat cleaned him up.
"Felix? Oh, Felix...! You're alive!"
"Marzia...is that really you? But...you were with...Dan...I...only...wanted one last glimpse of you...I'm...sorry...."
"No Felix, I'm sorry. Dan kidnapped me. I didn't realize he took a video of me when I was so angry. He edited the video. Oh Felix...how could they do this to you? I watched the whole thing...I'm so sorry."
I lowered my head. "How could you ever love me?"
Suddenly, I felt his warm hand brush my hair back. "Marzia...I will ALWAYS love you."
I looked up tearfully, but seeing him smile, I smiled too. Suddenly, a note flew into the room through the slot. I ran over to get it and began reading it.
Congratulations. You're now in a room together. However, I refuse you all food. You may drink once a day, but before long, you'll be begging me to take you. I see the only way to have you as my wife is to kill the boy once you've had enough starvation.
I heard a grunt of pain as Felix struggled to get up behind me. I ran over to him, and he sat up and read it. I began to cry again. I couldn't lose Felix, not again.
"Its okay, Marzia. We'll find a way to get through this, together."
I didn't care about Dan anymore. Right then and there, in the middle of all the broken glass and blood, I kissed him. And he kissed me back with equal passion. And for a long time, I just lay there with him on the floor, pretending everything was normal, and we were back home. Felix, being still weak, fell asleep soon. I watched him sleep for a few minutes, then snuggled up to Felix.
Felix, my perfect fiancée.
