Things were happening quickly in the Tomlinson-Styles household. Louis and Harry were getting ready for Cher’s appointment with Arthur, but something even greater was happening.
The first day of school.
“Okay Liam, stand closer to Zayn,” Louis instructed. Harry stood there, his arms crossed, as he looked pleased with his two sons. They both looked done with pictures, but Louis refused to finish until Harry pointed out that they might be late dropping them off.
“Oh my gosh, okay, okay, um we need to get to the car and drop off Liam then Zayn,” Louis said as he gathered up his car keys and Harry and Cher watched with amused smiles.
“You don’t seem half as nervous as he does,” Cher said softly so only Harry could hear.
“Well, I mean, I know my kids; they’re going to be fine,” Harry said with a shrug. “Besides, Zayn’s just going to a pre-school center. Liam is the new kid, but I think he’ll fit in fine.”
“Well they are both wonderful,” Cher said with a smile. “You should be proud.”
“I am- we are. It’s a wonderful feeling. I can’t wait to experience it a third time,” Harry said as he absentmindedly looked down at Cher’s stomach.
Cher was a bit bloated, but not too much. In fact, she didn’t have much a glow to Harry’s knowledge, but he didn’t know much about pregnancy, but he thought she’d start showing more signs. But Harry, being a one-tracked mind, didn’t ponder on the matter too much when Louis called his name to snap out of the mindset he was in.
“Ready?” Louis asked as Liam bounced up and down, whereas Zayn was standing there scuffing the floor gently with his shoe.
“Yeah,” Harry said. “We’ll be back soon, okay Cher?”
She nodded and waved goodbye before picking up her book she had been reading. Harry and Louis piled the kids in the car and when everyone was good and ready, they headed on their way to their first stop: Liam’s school.
“You excited Li?” Harry asked as they began the drive.
“Yeah! I get to meet people?” Liam asked again as he sat comfortably in the seat. They took a jump and let Liam start riding without his booster seat, and so far it was okay. He was the proper height to do so and the seatbelt didn’t bother Liam.
“You do bud,” Louis said. “And then you can call them your friends. Heck, you might meet your best friend.”
“But Zaynie’s my best friend,” Liam said as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Well of course he is, but he’s also your brother,” Louis explained. “At school, these people aren’t related to you, so it’s a bit different.”
“So no bath times with them?” Liam asked.
“Oh heavens no,” Harry said. “That’s not a friend activity.”
“Playing with them?” Liam asked as Harry pulled into a parking spot.
“Definitely,” Louis said with a smile.
Harry and Louis helped Zayn and Liam out of the car, and walked up to the school, with Zayn insisting to walk next to Liam. As they got closer, Liam got a bit nervous; his nerves seemed to vanish as soon as they arrived at the door to his classroom. When it opened, a nice older lady appeared, and flashed a smile at the family. Her hair a light shade of brown, and a nice demeanor seemed to calm the family.
“Hi there! I’m Mrs. Thompson, the first grade teacher,” she said with a soft voice. “And who might you all be?”
“Hi, I’m Harry, this is my husband Louis, and our two sons: Zayn and Liam,” Harry introduced his family accordingly. “Liam is going to be the one joining you today.”
