8th Period

That night we had the party, about twenty people came and we all had a good time. It was really fun to act normal with my friends and Ryan, although it was a little awkward but we got over that. Ryan and I didn't do anything sexually that night because we were both a little drunk and consent matters to both of us.
We went home the next day, we had so much fun together. I really enjoyed it all. It made me so happy. It's also so crazy it's 2019 already! Last year went by so fast I can barely remember it.

- time skip: 4 months -

"April showers bring May flowers." My mom says as she takes a sip of her ginger tea while looking out to the backyard.

Rain drops trickle down the window pane. Luna and I sat at the small kitchen island eating waffles and sausage. I could smell the alcohol on Luna's breath, she's been drinking so much lately, I keep asking her what's wrong but she just shuts her door in my face and turns her music up so I can't hear her crying. It's sad. I miss the old her.

"Do you want to go out today?" I asked.
"Maybe, depends." She replied taking a sip of orange juice.

It's the second day of spring break and Luna hasn't left the house, she hasn't showered or talked to anyone. I wanted her to get out and enjoy herself. We had a week of spring break and I wanted to make the most of it, we just finished state testing and I really needed a break from everything.

My mom walked out of the kitchen and down the hall to her room. Luna turned towards me.

"Are you going to Ryan's tonight?" She asked.
"Maybe I don't know, I planned on hanging with you today then going to his house tomorrow night."
"Oh okay. Do you wanna go to the beach?" She asked with a smile.
"Sure. Just us?" I asked.
"Um, no all five of us, oh and if Ryan wants to come he can."
"Okay I'll ask him." I said with a smile.

After we finished breakfast we called everyone and told them to meet us at Rotary beach at 12. I got a beach bag together placing sunscreen, towels, sunglasses, and water inside. I slipped on a high waisted dark blue bikini with flowers on the hips then I put on a white cover up. Luna got on a black one piece that made her small pale figure stand out. You could see her bones popping out when she moved a certain way, she wasn't eating a lot recently.

We drove to the beach and soon everyone met up at a pavilion then earlier to the beach together. Ryan had on black trunks, Carson has blue, and Dennis had bright red. We all looked hot if I do say so myself. We found a spot to lay out our towels and sprawl out. The waves crashing on one another made a peaceful sound. The sand felt warm in between my toes. I lathered on sunscreen and laid out hoping to tan a little. Knowing I wouldn't because I'm a red head but it was still worth a shot. Ryan laid next to me, our hands together. Everyone else was in the water messing around.

"So, you're gonna be a senior soon. How's that feel?" Ryan asked.
"Exhausting, and sad because I won't have you for English anymore."
"You might, maybe even during 8th Period, they change it every year apparently."
"Hopefully."

We sat in silence for a few more minutes.

"So your birthday is coming up, what do you want to do?" He asked.
"I don't know my parents already told me they would be out of town so I don't have money to go anywhere."
"That's okay, maybe you could come to my place and we could just hang out there and the four of them could come."
"Maybe, that sounds fun. But wouldn't that make you feel awkward?" I asked
"No not really, I'm comfortable around them for the most part."
"Cool." I said happily.

I reapplied sunscreen then Ryan and I walked to the water where everyone was. We sat down in the shallow water next to them and Luna started talking to us.

"I love you guys." She said sincerely.
"What's up with you?" Hazel asked jokingly.
"Nothing, I just love hanging out with you all, Hazel's bitchy attitude, Carson's cute face, Jasmine's awkwardness, Dennis' confidence, and Ryan's matureness. I love being around you guys."
"Awe, well we love being around you." I said.

She gave a light smile and placed her forehead on Carson's arm.

- later that night -

I stayed at Ryan's and we watched movies till we fell asleep. Carson stayed at the house with Luna because they were finally gonna have sex because all of Luna's bruises were healed.

I woke up around 4 AM to a call from Carson. I answered the phone and heard sirens in the background as he choked out the words, "I think Luna's dead."
