- time skip 3 weeks -

Luna only came out of her room to eat and go to school, she didn't text or call anyone. She didn't say a word to me when we were both in the car or at school. I was really worried about her, she just wouldn't let me in.

My birthday is this Saturday, May 18th. My parents were going to be out of town of course, they can't even stay home for my birthday. It didn't really matter to me though because this way all of my friends could come over. I hoped that Luna would try to be apart of our friend group because they were all coming to stay this weekend.

It is Sunday and I stayed with Ryan last night. We had a really meaningful talk while we watched the stars from the grass in his backyard. We didn't regularly say I love you to each other but we did it occasionally. I was okay with that thought, I didn't want to be one of those couples. For the past few weeks though I've been feeling guilty about everything. I'm almost 18 and he's 25 and my fucking English teacher. I knew there was always risks but around now I was really worried since Hazel said we should take it to the next level on my birthday, and I'm considering it.

Ryan drove us to my house and we both walked in and found Luna sitting at the kitchen table.

"Hey guys." Luna said with a smile I haven't seen in a while.
"What's up" Ryan said sitting down across from her. Luna held out a blunt.
"Nah I'm good." Ryan said taking the weed out of her hand and handing it to me. I took a few hits and passed it back to Luna.
"So what are we doing for your birthday?" Luna asked.
"Well mom and dad won't be here so I figured all of us could chill here all weekend." I said taking another hit after.
"Hmm, okay." Luna spoke softly.
"Well I'm gonna head out." Ryan said getting up and pushing in the chair. I walked him to the door and kissed him softly. He whispered "I love you" and I repeated as he walked out and got in his truck.

"Have you done it yet?" Luna said with a curious smile on her face.
"No, I'm thinking about it though."
"I mean I think you should, he's hot and actually like loves you." She said giving me what's left of the blunt.
"Yeah I guess." I said sitting down next to her and taking a few hits.

Luna soon got up and grabbed a Pepsi from the fridge and went off to her room. I threw away the roach and went to my room as well.

- time skip to Friday -

Everyone is coming over in an hour and Luna and I are setting up the house. She's been more open to me this past week and we have been spending more time together. Which is good.
Luna rolled joints while I set up the beer and put out food. I quickly got in the shower and shaved then got dressed. I just put on a black tank top and shorts because this party was far from fancy.

Soon everyone came and we all chilled in the kitchen just eating. Ryan pulled me into my bedroom and handed me a small lavender box with white ribbon wrapped around it.

"Happy birthday." He said motioning for me to open it. I opened it to find a small ring with an emerald heart shaped stone. I smiled and kissed him.
"Thank you baby, I love it." I said giving him a hug and kissing him again.
I put the ring on and it fit perfectly.
"I love you Jasmine." He said so softly looking into my eyes.
"I love you too." I said smirking. Then out of no where Luna bursts in the room and shouts "Get up we're smoking." She then leaves and I look to Ryan.
"Are you gonna?" I asked.
"Nah I'll just grab something to drink."

We both got up and walked to the kitchen where a birthday cake was lit and everyone started singing happy birthday. I stood there awkwardly as you do and Luna handed me a joint, I lit it with the candle flame then blew them out. I took a hit then passed it around. Soon after a car pulled up and Luna walked out. We all thought it was a little weird but we continued doing our thing. 15 minutes go by and Luna and this girl walk in.

"Who's she?" Carson asked.
"She is Taylor, and she brought molly." Luna said holding up a bag with a few small pills. She grabbed 2 out of the bag and handed the rest to me.
"Here you go birthday girl." She said then left to her bedroom with Taylor.

Everyone stared at me. "Are you gonna do it." Hazel asked and without thinking I opened the bag and put one in my mouth. Hazel and Dennis took one and Ryan just looked at me with disappointment.

He pulled me into the bathroom and I pushed him up against the wall and pressed my lips against his trying to avoid a lecture. We kissed for a few seconds but he eventually pulled me away.

"Weed is one thing but molly is another. You could get hurt this is dangerous."
"Chill out it's not that big of a deal."
"Okay well it is because I will get a charge if I get caught from this relationship and if they found out you guys are doing drugs."
"Ryan. Stop. It's fine. I'm fine. Can we just enjoy the rest of the party?"
"No we can't. I'm pissed."
"Baby please?" I said putting one hand on his chest and the other below his waist, I kissed his neck and slowly took off his belt. He then moved away.
"I'm not doing this with you while you're fucked up. I'm leaving. This is over. I can't get caught."
I instantly felt my heart shatter and I watched as he opened the bathroom door and left the house. I followed him out to the porch and watched as he pulled away and went in the direction of his house. I turned around with tears in my eyes to see Carson standing a few feet away with his arms open. I went straight in and sobbed. I pulled away and he wiped my tears away. "I'm gonna go get Luna." He said quietly walking down the hallway. I heard the bedroom door open and Carson yell "What the fuck." Then heard the bedroom door slam shut.
