Will he be okay?

Johnny's P.O.V.
We were almost at our house and I was really regretting the whole not staying at the Curtis house decision I made earlier. We walked for a bit more and now we were outside our house I heard my mom and dad yelling outside Ava picked up her head and looked at me she looked so scared. "Sh Ava it's okay they aren't going to hurt you."

I put her down though because they were going to hurt me and I didn't want Ava in the middle of that. I bent down and gave her a tight hug and a kiss and then I held her hand something told me something bad was going to happen tonight I decided in my head we were going to get Ava blanket and clothes for a few days and then we would go to the Curtis house I could wear the same clothes to school I didn't care but I didn't want Ava getting picked on more then she already would. We walked up the steps and I put my finger over my mouth signaling for Ava to be quiet so we could try and sneak in but right when the door open only the tiniest bit a stronger force pulled it open on the other side Ava screamed and hide behind me my dad grabbed me and pulled me in by the shirt that made Ava fall to the ground. "Ava go back to the Curtis." I shouted my mom was coming to grab her but Ava was to fast I just hopped she knew her way there.

Dallas P.O.V.
Two-bit was watching Mickey Mouse with pony, Darry was getting lunches ready for tomorrow including Ava's Soda and Steve were playing cards at the table and I was leaning against the wall watching them regretting the decision to let Johnny and Ava go home. Then the door opened we all though it would be Johnny and Ava back to stay the night but it was only one of them it was Ava. She sat down on the floor and put her head in her knees and started. Crying we all rushed over to her. "Ava what's wrong." Pony said. "Daddy g..g..going to hurt j...j...j..Johnny." She said before she started crying again "No he's not." I said walking towards the door everyone followed except Ava she stayed there watching us. "Ava you coming." I said opening the door. "Johnny told me not to go back." She said she looked defeated. "Well I'm telling you to come." I Said picking her up she smiled. "So we can get my blanky." "Yup." Soda said then we left quick and ran over. When we got to the house Ava tried to get out of my arms. "What are you doing?" I said looking down at her. "She's probably scared Dallas." Pony said. "No I'm not." Ava said "Johnny always puts me down here." So I just put her down then before us she just bolted to the door. "Ava!" We all said she turned around when she got to the top and put a finger over her mouth to signal to us to be quiet. It hurt me to know how her and Johnny got into there house so they wouldn't get beaten up. Her hand was shaking but she opened the door only a crack and then let go and backed away. I got really confused but then her dad swung the door open. "Ava I'm going to kill you!" She screamed and without us even noticing he grabbed her shirt and had her in seconds. "Johnny!" She screamed and we all just busted through the door Darry grabbed Ava from her fathers hand and she just started crying. She hugged Darry tight and looked away from the sence on the floor Johnny was laying there with his switchblade in his arm. My eye widen johnny's mother standing there shaking but johnny was still conscious because he tried to get up but failed and fell to the floor. He yelled a bit and Ava turned around their mom was walking over to Johnny. "No!" Ava said squirming in Darry arms he put her down and she ran over to Johnny. "Stay away from him." She said standing in front of him. Darry went behind her and picked Johnny up. We al just watched Ava stand there for a minute very confidently but as soon as her mother face turned angry the became a scared little girl again. "What in the hell did you say to me you little ungrateful brat." Hers eyes filled up with tears. "N..n..nothing I..I..I said nothing." She said trembling her mother smiled at how scared Ava was of her. She got up in Ava's face and Ava looked away and closed her eye then she squinted them open. "Leave." She siad then her mom shoved her to the ground. "Treat people with respect." She looked at her scared and Johnny looked mad. "I..I'm sorry mommy." I looked like it hurt her to say those words to her she got up and their mom shoved her down again. "Stay there and think about what you've done!" She said "Okay." She looked at us and then turned away. When her mom walked out she looked at us. "What are you waiting for take him to the hospital." She said getting up from her spot then foot steps came towards the door and she sat down quick we waited then I picked her up and we ran out the door and to the hospital. When we got thee Johnny had passed out and was taken away from us by docs Ava looked so confused and scared. "Hey johnny's going to be okay." Darry Said rubbing her back. "Okay." She said slouching down. After an hour of being there and Ava fighting sleep the doctor came out. "Do we have any immediate family for Jonathan Cade?" He asked Ava jumped up. "I'm his sister if that's what you mean." She said. "Would like to see your big brother?" The doctor asked. "Umm can he come to please." She said pointing to me. "Um yes I guess so." The doctor said walking away she took my hand and we started the long walk down the hallway to get to johnny's room.
