Dally walked in the hospital to be met with me brushing Ava's teeth. "Hey Johnnycakes, dollface."

He said with a slight smirk. Ava smiled and turned her head to see him. "Ava come'n look at Johnny."

I said trying to get her front teeth, she looked back to me and smiled, I smiled and shook my head. "Okay here."

I said picking her up to hover over the sink, she spit out the tooth past and grabbed the towel and wiped her mouth off. "Good girl Av's."

I said smiling and putting her down. Ava smiled to me then lifted her arms, I picked her up and brought her back to her bed. "They said she's getting out today."

I said smiling to dally, he smiled and nodded his head. "Dawwy watch cartoon?"

Ava said moving more and patting a spot next to her for dally. "I mean I've got the time."

Dally said walking over. Ava moved to the middle and looked to me, I smiled and passed her, her pacy and blanket. She laid her head on Dally's lap and I rubbed her back. Her eyes started falling. "Man you sure are cute Av's."

Dally said smiling. "I know."

She said quietly, I smiled and shook my head "Johnny?"

A nurse said coming in Avas room. "Here's the reales papers for Ava, just signs these and your free to go."

I smiled and sighed the papers. "Thank you!"

I said happily, before I gave them back to her. "Alright, here's her clothes. Hope you have a nice day Ava."

Ava smiled. "I hope you too."

Ava said smiling, the nurse smiled. "Well thank you darling."

She said before she turned around and walked outta Ava's room. "Alright let's get you dressed."

I said getting up, Ava sat up and smiled. "Otay Johnny."

She said before she put her arms up, I smiled and pulled the hospital gown up. "Hey where'd Ava go?"

Ava giggled, I pulled it off the rest of the way. "Here I am!"

She said smiling to me. "Oh there you are!"

I said tickling her, she giggled. "Johnny s-stop."

She said in a high pitch squeal. "Okay alright, here put your arms up."

She giggled and put her arms up. I pulled her shirt over her head, then I put on her leggings on. "Here stand up."

I said picking her up halfly, she put her feet down and held onto my shoulders while I pulled her legging up the rest of the way. "Look at that!"

I said smiling. "I all dressed!"

Ava said a huge smile stretched across her face. "I bet the gangs at the Curtis house."

Dally said walking over to us. "We go see!"

"Sure thing kid."

I said ruffling her hair. I picked her up and went to put her down but she held her hands back up. "Johnny hold me!"

She whined. "Fine, fine I'll hold you."

I said with a smile, before I picked her up. Ava wrapped her arms around my neck and laid her head on my shoulder dally passed her, her blanket and pacy and with that we left, man I don't think I could ever live without her...

We had to walk on the soc side of town to get back home considering that's where the hospital was. "hey greasers!"

A soc yelled from behind us, of course. Ava picked her head up and I looked over to dally, he turned around and so, so did I. "What are you doing on our territory!"

"We walking home!"

Ava piped up, dally sighed. "Come'n man we don't want any trouble!"

I yelled. "I find that hard to believe, that's all you'd ever look for!"

The soc said getting closer, I put Ava down and pushed her behind my legs. She held the back of my legs she wasn't shy but she was scared which she had every right, one soc came up to dally and got him good in the face.

Which started it all, Ava screamed, and closed her eyes. I tried pushing her away from me but there was no way in hell she was letting go of my leg, so while I started to get punched I tried holding my balance trying to not make Ava fall or step on her. "Ava baby let go of Johnny."

I half choked out while I got a good hit to the face, I felt her tiny hands let go and that's when a gin shot went off, and a blood curling scream...

I looked over to dally he got up instantly I looked over to my side and watch Ava fall to the ground. They shit her the bastards! I was in full on panic mode now, the docs backed off and I scrambled to my feet, people started coming outta there house, before one women ran over to us, I didn't say anything and neither did dally. "Ava!"

I said quietly before I picked her up, dally took off his shirt and put it on the bullet wound. "Hey, hey Ava your okay! Come'n wake up!"

I half sobbed out. "Some call 911!"

The women yelled running back to her house. "Hey baby Come'n."

Dally said with tears in his eyes hitting her arm lightly. "Ava!"

I sobbed out shaking her lightly. "Ava, Ava wake up!"

Dally started sobbing to, with both knew she was dead, she wasn't waking up, "Johnny, Dally?"

Darry said walked over he must be roofing a house over here, he does that a lot. "Darry!"

I half sobbed, I don't know why I thought Darry could fix this, but it's just cause he always does, Darry's the adult, he the one that takes care of us. "Johnny what-.."

When he seen Ava, he sat down next to us. "Hey Johnny man, dally it's okay guys okay, it'll be okay. Here dally let me do that."

Darry said putting his hand on Daly's shirt pressing harder on Ava's stomach were the perfect hole left by the bullet, in her side. It was no use doing all this Ava was dead, I knew she was dead, no matter what happened Ava was gone, she was gone forever. That's when it hit me, I was never gonna see her beautiful big brown eyes sparkle when I took her for ice cream, I wasn't gonna get a hug and a kiss from her when I had a bad. She was gonna be gone forever, she only got to see 4 years old, 4 years old ain't long enough not for me, she doesn't deserve this....

Not for anyone, why her why?
