So Emily just told them and by looking at their faces, I don't really know what they're thinking about right now. They kind of look shocked but I don't know, they have no reaction at all. I was expecting them scream or cry or laugh or just do something. When Cece announced her pregnancy they had a reaction right away. Emily squeezes my sweaty hands and I'm so nervous.

A: so girls, what do you think about that?

They look at each other but still no reactions. They keep looking at us back and forth with this serious face on. They suddenly stand up, in sync, and run to their room. I try to go after them but Pam grabbed my wrist before I could even move and said she's got this. Emily looks at me, worried but I can see deep down in her eyes that she trusts her mother. We let Pam go talk to the girls and we clean the table before going up to the girls room to try to listen to what they're saying. We can hear some crying sounds and it breaks both our hearts. We don't like when our babies are crying but this time it's different. I don't know how different, it just is.

P: girls what's wrong, don't you want a little sibling?
L: no we don't grandma.
P: why not?
G: because then we'll be three and we only have two parents so one of us is always going to be left out. And we know it's going one of us since they're gonna be all over the new baby.
L: yes, when Lola form school got a baby sister, her parents completely forgot her and they had all their attention on the baby

Oh wow, I didn't see that coming. So that's the issue, they think we will love them less and they're going to be left out.

P: that doesn't make any sense girls.
L: it does grandma.
P: no honey, look I have 4 sisters and none of us were left out, our parents loved us all very much. No one was the favorite. And yeah, moms will have to take care of the baby a lot during its first month but that wont change how much they love you both.
G: Yeah, but we still don't want another sibling. On top of sharing our moms, we'll have to share our toys
P: where is this attitude coming from young lady? Sharing is a very good thing. And remember, if you don't share or if you're not nice, Santa doesn't come.
L: But –
P: no buts, You guys are going to love being big sisters, it's like playing dolls with a real baby, you're going to teach them how play, how to be nice, how to share and you're going to team to drive your moms crazy...

They both laugh and it made us laugh too. The two of them already drive us crazy, so imagine what it will be like when the little one will be old enough to follow its sisters footsteps.

P: ... you're going to protect them from all the mean kids when they'll be a little bigger; you're going to help your moms change their diaper and feed them and clean them and all that stuff. Trust me you'll enjoy it.
G: ewww I don't want to change their diaper.
L: but if aunt Cece is also having a baby, does that mean we will have to do all that with her baby too?
P: yes, but only when it comes over. You'll have to do all that all the time with your baby sibling.
G: okay, so I guess it will be kind of fun. We will think about it grandma.
P: thanks girls, now go tell your moms how you feel.

They hug their grandma and come out of the room. We look at Pam and just smile at her, thanking her. They come to me and do something I didn't expect. They put their little heads on my belly and start talking to eat while rubbing it. It's still very small but they're so cute.

G: so you're the new one huh? Well we are you're sisters. I'm Grace
L: and I'm Lily. You better not hurt mommy or we will kill you
A: hey be nice girls, they won't hurt me.
L: but it made you throw up
A: yes it did, but that's part of pregnancy.
G: why does everyone keep saying "they"?
L: do you have two babies in there mommy?
E: no "they" is a pronounce used to say more than one but also to keep things neutral as we don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet.
G: oh okay
A: what would you girls want? A brother or a sister.
