Chapter 1: A Fresh New Start

¤ CB's POV ¤

Today was the day when me and my mom get to move out of my mom's old appartment, after he decides to be with his new family along with Mary instead of us.  It was like any other normal day for most people, but for me?

It was a start of a new journey to the great unknown.

"Are you ready?" My mom asked me with a huge smile on her as she moved the last boxes of our stuff to the back of the van.

I was carrying the last of own stuff in a box towards the van too, and as I reached to her side, while flashing her a bright smile. "I'm ready as I'll ever be."

She chuckled a little with a small smirk while messing my hair playfully, making me laugh. The happiest laugh that I had so far.

We stared at each other for a moment as we both saw the glint of pure happiness in each other's eyes, only to be interrupted by a loud 'beep' came out of the van.

"Come on guys, we have a long journey ahead of us," Our driver, Bill said while sticking his head out of the van window playfully, making me and my mom chuckle.

"Alright Bill, we're coming," My mom said annoyingly while rolling her eyes, as we both made our way to the van with excitement flowing through my veins.

As soon as we got inside the van, I quickly sat near the window and clicked on my seat belt while a smile crept its way on my lips. I was just too excited today!

My eyes went to the shotgun seat where my mom sat, as we met each other's gaze only to see the pure happiness inside them.

"I can see that someone is excited?" My mom joked playfully, making me chuckle a little as I uncontrollably jump slightly on my seat.

Why wouldn't I be excited!? I'm gonna meet my new dad today! I got mom hooked up with him on Facebook, and this is the second time mom's gonna see him and the first time I'm gonna see him in personal!

His situation was kind of the same as well to what happened to our family; got his family broken to pieces by a bitch marrying him only for his money but then cheated on him when she got enough. 

But when he met mom on social media, he even wished he met her sooner or later! The internet can be a really weird place for making people fall in love with each other, but if it makes a person happy then heck the risks are all worth it! I can't believe that love works that way.

Even though he's not my real dad, he was a lot better than my old one. And maybe even better when I meet him! Mom also mentioned that my new dad has a son, making him my stepbrother. Gosh I ALWAYS wanted a brother! I just can't wait to meet them!

My thoughts were interrupted by the van starting its engine, making my bright smile even brighter and my heart suddenly beat so fast that it can probably outrun Sonic right now.
