¤ Ennard's POV ¤
"Is she going to be alright?" I asked the nurse, while she placed the bandage on the side of CB's face. I shook my head, sighing heavily with worry. Kellen patted me on the back, as she looked at her, worried as well.
I don't even want to remember what happened to her, I just hope my sister's not hurt.
"She will be okay, and luckily she never managed to get a concussion. She does have a serious wound on her left cheek, but don't worry," The nurse said carefully, as I breathed in deep. Oh sissy, why does it always have to be you?
"Just make sure she gets plenty of rest. Also, apply regular dressings on her wound. And make sure that she doesn't get hit too hard on the left side of her face," The nurse also warned, making my breathing more unsteady.
I glanced at Kellen, then back to CB. She's still unconscious from the hit, and it doesn't seem like she's going to wake up in less than 2 hours. Why am I acting like a doctor? Or a nurse? Or whatever its called. I just want to see my sis awake again.
The door suddenly opened, revealing Joe entering the Clinic. The nurse from earlier nodded to me, and excused herself from the situation.
"Hey Kel, CB's still not up?" Joe asked from behind, making the both of us turn our attention to him. He came to Kellen's side, taking a look at Baby with worry. I guess I'm not the only one worrying over her, so I guess worrying is normal? I don't know.
"Apparently not Joe," Kellen answered with a heavy sigh and a shake of his head. I could've sworn I saw him hold Joe's hand, but who am I to judge? There's no time for this; all I care about now is my sister.
Kellen breathed in deep before reaching out his hand to touch my shoulder. "Ennard, we'll get going now. Tell us when Baby's already up."
I nodded, pursing my lips nervously. "Sure, I'll let you know." And with that, they left the Clinic with a small click left at the door. Then came the silence, which felt rather uneasy than it should be.
I sighed heavily, scooting my seat closer to CB. I've never watched anyone, let alone a girl sleep before, and it feels kinda weird considering that she's my own sis. My stepsister. But hey, I couldn't care less. Surely we're not connected by blood, but she is family. She will always be.
And I feel like this is somehow a warning sign for me to watch out for her as a brother, and to be more protective over her...
The door surprisingly opened, snapping me out of my thoughts. I'm quite shocked to see him here, I thought he was the only one who would want to see my sister last. What does he want with my sister now?
"Cap, what are you doing here?" I asked him with a confused look, as he took a glance at CB then back to me. Freddy sighed heavily, his shoulders slouching slightly. "Just wanna know if she's okay, I guess," he replied bluntly, looking over CB with a blank face.
