¤ Freddy's POV ¤
"Ball!" I shouted as we ran through the court, practicing for our Final's match. Since there were only the 6 of us in this class on the official Basketball Team for the whole school, our team was divided into 2, at a full court basis. Coach watched us intently, observing our ball movement. Hopefully we get the technique he taught us cleanly before the actual game.
Our team consisted of Me, Foxy, and Nightmare (which is one of my brothers) while the other team consisted of Bonnie, Ennard, and Phantom (also one of my brothers). I stopped my steps near the three point lane, guarded by Ennard. We grinned to each other, before I ran towards Foxy, providing me a false screen.
Ennard fell for it though, guarding me instead of Foxy who already has the ball in his hands, being guarded by Bonnie. Some people on the bleachers are watching us (like Chica who is obviously checking out her boyfriend), while others are busy doing advanced schoolwork. And that included Baby and Kellen.
Ugh.
Me and Ennard watched from afar as Foxy passed the ball to Nightmare, then shooting it towards the ring, making everyone faintly cheer as it went down the hoop. Foxy and Nightmare is a really great duo against most schools, some didn't even expect they'd attack quickly.
Then, Bonnie passed the ball to Ennard for the inbound, of course still guarded by me. Hey, a tip when you're playing Basketball is to never ever leave the one you chose to guard so it won't cause any confusion to the other members of the team.
Ennard and Phantom were near the baseline which is perfect, because I told Foxy that if he manages to steal the ball from either one of them, then he'll pass it to me so that I could do my "plan", which is to basically divert my brother from that monster red head.
Note to self: women are dangerous. And that girl is already a great example.
So, I gave Foxy our signal so that we can switch defense positions. Now, I'm guarding Phantom while Foxy was guarding Ennard. Coach didn't seem to mind, so I knew my plan was hiding in plain sight.
I made sure I was standing on the part of the baseline where Baby and Kellen were near so that I don't get humiliated later on.
Coach whistled before giving the ball to Ennard. He immediately tries to find Phantom, but was caught off guard by Foxy while tapping the ball away from his grasp. Once that Foxy got hold of the ball, he quickly passed it to me as I told him.
Holy balls, Foxy.
The miscalculation? He threw the ball too hard, and what eventually was planned to be a playful prank became an accident.
The ball flew towards me, and I tried to catch it with my left hand, but it only ended up touching half of its side. Then, it hit the red head straight on the face. Fuck.
Everyone gasped, as Coach immediately whistled frantically while him and Ennard practically ran towards her. Now I feel guilty, and now everyone's eyes are on me. Kellen luckily caught her just in time before she meets the floor, as I ran up to the scene myself. Shit Freddy, what were you thinking?
Kellen handed Baby to Ennard, and Coach immediately ordered him to go to the Clinic. I was just standing there like a complete jerk, which was probably true up to this point. Everyone thinks that too, probably.
"Class dismissed. I have an important conversation with the team," Coach announced, as everyone started to gossip and mumble to themselves on what just happened. Guess who's in big trouble? Yeah, its this guy while I drastically point to myself.
Coach whistled for us to come into a huddle, as I ready myself for a serious talk with Coach. Baby was right, I am a dickhead as she always say.
He gave us all stern looks, before shaking his head. "Who touched the ball last before it hit CB?" When we were all silent, he stomped his foot harshly against the floor, making everyone flinch. And I flinched a little bit more physically than the rest. Then Coach glared at me. "WHO WAS IT!?"
"It was me Coach," I said weakly, lowering my head. I can't look at Coach when I know I did something wrong, and this time it wasn't only me that knew, everyone in the class did.
I heard Coach breath deeply, before speaking. "Team, we're dismissed for today," but I knew there was a continuation to that sentence, "except for you Captain."
Everyone patted me on the shoulder, and Foxy lingered for a while before sighing. "I'm sorry, Cap-"
"Its okay bro," I smiled at him, "I guess I'll have to talk to you later," I told him. When Coach repeatedly whistled his whistle, Foxy started to jog out of the Gym. "Meet me at the Football Field Cap!" He managed to shout, before the entire Gym was already silent.
"Walk with me, Fazbear. It looks like we have a lot to talk about," Coach said, as we both made our way towards his office. I cautiously followed behind.
There's this urge to say sorry because why not when its the only thing that I could say at the moment? When the silence was too much, I gathered all courage to find my voice. "Coach, I'm really sorry-"
"CB always complained on how you even exist in her life," Coach said calmly, his hands clasped behind his back along with his whistle hanging on his neck, making a small tap every time. Well, how can you not notice if it wasn't this silent? Crap. Now I feel bad.
I lowered my head more at what he said, wetting my lips with a small nod. "Its quite evident with all the trouble you get into, right Cap?" He asked me as his hand reached out to the door knob into his office.
Coach opened the door, and we both made our way inside, with Coach closing the door gently. "Do you always like to bother my daughter, Captain? Cause if so, then getting you out of my team will surely give you more time to do so," he threatened, making me gulp nervously as I stared to the ground.
At this point, I don't even know what to say anymore. I can't even look at Coach straight in the eye, all I feel now is guilt. And how should I apologize to Baby? I mean, I don't really want to directly say it to her, I just want to let her know indirectly, but how-
"If you don't want to leave, or more to the point, if you don't want my daughter to be around you, maybe you can just ignore her politely and not be rude," I nodded my head at that, but some part of me wasn't really caring on whatever he's saying right now. "Because apparently your brother would be the exact opposite."
Now that hit a nerve for some reason, and it took everything in me to not talk back to Coach.
