¤ Freddy's POV ¤
"Heck it even went to the next level, but y'know, sometimes you have to put boundaries on what other people can be to you," I heard Chica say from beside Bonnie, making my heart thump harder than the usual.
"You know, I don't really have any idea on how Chica can be so open to people she just met," I said to Bonnie with a sharp sigh, finishing up my hamburger as I saw him nod his head lightly.
He shook his head lightly, making me laugh a little. "Tell me about it."
In all honesty, I don't really know how or why am I talking to Bonnie in the first place. It seemed like we just made up a few minutes ago, but the fact that he's the new boyfriend of my ex-girlfriend doesn't feel right to me.
I mean, he is one of my dearest friends since childhood, but seriously when life gives you splinters it's always a good idea to just tug it out and throw it in a trash can.
I sighed heavily.
why?
Why me...?
"Hey man, you okay?" Bon snapped me out of my mind that almost took a road to thinking depressed thoughts, as I nod my head lightly to him.
But in the look in his eyes, he can tell that there was something bothering me. And he knows exactly what it is. I smiled lightly to him, but it's not a happy smile. It's a sad smile.
"Hey look man, I'm sorry if she had to do that-"
I gestured my hands for him to stop talking, and he only nodded in reply. "It was never your fault Bonnie. It was her decision, and there's nothing we can do to change it. We can't control her on what she wants. And that's okay with me."
He raised an eyebrow at me in disbelief. "Are you sure?" He asked to reassure me on everything that I just said to him.
"I know that it'll take me time for me to move on, but I will. Trust me," I said to him one more time, making him smile at me lightly as the bell had to ruin our small talk.
I laughed a little. "I guess it's another hour of boredom for us. No kidding, I'll sleep in there. I mean, Mr. Fritzgerald isn't really boring, but damn with that lullaby-like voice..." I trailed off with a long whistle as I playfully faked a yawn afterwards, making Bonnie laugh a little.
"Yeah, I really don't know why Math is so cool at the same time really boring," He stated with a small chuckle, as we both stood up our seats and waited for everyone in our table so that we can all go to our respective class rooms.
He does have a point though. You'll feel like a God when you get the chance to understand the art of Mathematics, but really you have to climb mountains of "trying-not-to-fall-asleep-during-classes" every single time you try to.
I chuckled a bit in this idea inside my head, plastering a small smile on my lips.
As we were all making our way outside the cafeteria along with my train of thought, I felt a small tap on my shoulder. When I turned around, I saw Chica behind me with a shy smile.
Don't give me that smile, it gives me good but long gone memories...
I quickly recomposed myself and flashed a huge smile on my lips. "Hey Chi, what's up?" I greeted, making her giggle a little.
She shook her head lightly, trying to bring back the elephant in the room between us. "I want to talk with you about what happened. You know...-"
"And?" I pushed on, trying to conceal any emotion that's ready to pour out of me at this moment. She contemplated on wether or not to say anything about that, but she decided against it. After all, it's already written all over her face anyway.
"I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry. For, what happened. To us," She told me softly, a small tear running down on her pale cheek despite of her bright, but hurt smile.
She was always good at keeping her real emotions pour out of her to people who doesn't need to see it.
I shrugged as if it's nothing, and with a small chuckle. "Its fine Chi, you know how I hate it when I force people on things that they don't want, and that includes your choices as well," I said while flashing a small smile. I can't even tell it myself if I wanted it to be a genuine one or not.
You're a great pretender Freddy.
Your ex taught you really well.
"I just hope that you didn't put the blame on yourself. It'll be a huge weight on your shoulders, trust me. It's better if you'd just-"
"Let go. And I already have," I finished the sentence for her, as she nodded her head in agreement.
I smiled at her while putting a hand on her shoulder. "I think it's best if we'd stay as friends and leave everything we had before behind."
She raised an eyebrow at me, before shaking her head while laughing lightly. "Or, we stay together as friends, and keep the good memories along with us."
That's when a tear uncontrollably ran down my cheek, as I gave her one of the most genuine smiles that I have ever given to anyone.
"Hi, I'm Freddy Fazbear. Some people call me Freddy, but you can call me Fred. It's what my friends call me," I stated softly with a smile while raising a hand for her to shake.
"And I'm Chica Teasy. Some people call me 'Chica', but my friends call me 'Chi'," She said while shaking my hand softly, as I saw her give me a friendly smile. A friendly smile.
