"number one is number four, number two is number six, number three is number one-"

"um, joseph, is it?"

i give an odd stare to my new roommate, who smiled at me like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

"joe. call me joe."

"okay joe, well, quick question, what the fuck are you talking about?"

joe gave me a puzzled look and brushed some hair out of his eyes, it was a pretty colour, sort of a reddish brown.

"i'm rating the harry potter books. you wanted to get to know me, i figured that's the best way to do so."

i raised an eyebrow as we sat at the kitchen table, a lukewarm cup of coffee in each of our hands.

"you're honestly a mood. i like you."

joe smiled widely, stood up and hugged me, i chuckled, hugging him back.

"thanks y/n. i'm going to start unpacking. my room's the one to the.."

"right. across from the bathroom."

"thanks."

he stood up, grabbed his suitcases and bags and left the room.

joe mazzello. he seemed nice. i needed a roommate, after my friend lucy moved out to live with her boyfriend, rami, it was hard paying the bills myself.

i'm attending the nearby college, in art, the new year started last week, knowing joe goes there is helpful as our schedules are roughly the same.

"hey joe! i'm going for a shower!"

"okey-dokey!"

i got my clothes and towels and brought them into the bathroom, stepped out of my clothes and turned the faucet to hot.

once the water was to my liking, i stepped inside and let the water run over me.

i squirted some shampoo into my hand and lathered it into my hair, the feeling calming me instantly.

i washed it out and added conditioner, letting in soak in for a minute or two, then washing it out aswell.

i turned off the shower, squeezed the water out of my hair and wrapped a towel around myself and another around my hair.

i quickly dried myself and changed into a some pajamas pants and a black sports bra and socks.

i left the bathroom, planning to go to my room to get a hoodie.

i walked towards the sitting room, which was on the way to my room and starting singing 'nine to five' by dolly parton.

"tumble outta bed and stumble to the kitchen, pour myself a— HOLY FUCKITY FUCK—"
